Profiled metal sheet or simply corrugated board is widely used not only for the installation of roofing. They are clad with facades of residential buildings and industrial buildings. Various fences are erected from it. Correct joining of sheets of corrugated board provides buildings with an attractive appearance and tightness of the roof.

The main place for roof leaks is the site of violations of the joining of corrugated sheets. The technology provides for doing this with one wave lap. The extreme wave of the profiled sheet, appearing from below, has a special groove along which water falling under the joint flows. To ensure an airtight connection, it is enough just to precisely combine the side waves of the sheets lying next to each other, laying them with an overlap. If the length of the roof slope exceeds the length of the profiled sheet, they are overlapped and in a longitudinal position. Depending on the slope of the roof, the overlap can be from 15 to 20 centimeters. The greater the angle of inclination, the greater the overlap.

Installation of roofing decking begins with the bottom row of the roof. Having laid all the adjacent sheets in turn and securing them, overlap the top row. With this method, water will drain down and will not fall under it. The sheet is fixed to the crate using special self-tapping screws made of galvanized metal. They are painted in the color of corrugated board. To seal the installation site of the self-tapping screw, it has a silicone washer.

Facing the facade of the house should reliably protect the walls from the effects of precipitation. With horizontal installation of corrugated board, the installation of sheets should begin from the bottom up. This will not allow water to flow under the joint. Vertical sheet installation should only be carried out using a bubble level or laser level. Any deviation from the vertical plane will entail a violation of the tightness of the joints.

When erecting a fence from corrugated board, it is also necessary to ensure the quality of the joints between the sheets of corrugated board. The appearance of the fence will depend on this. The first sheet during installation is aligned in a vertical and horizontal plane. Subsequent sheets can be overlapped on a single wave. However, some experts advise doing this with the overlap of two or even three waves. This method will provide the fence with additional strength. In the case of mechanical damage to the sheets, the joints will not separate. The disadvantage of this method is the increased consumption of corrugated board. The corner joints of the sheets are closed with metal corners in the color of the base material. Fastening the profiled sheet to the cross members is carried out using roofing screws or aluminum rivets.
