Almost always cheap sofas have an unpleasant odor. This is due to the fact that the base, filler and upholstery material are not always of high quality. In some cases, toxic substances such as ammonia, acetone and methanol may be released, and they can be distinguished by their characteristic pungent odor. It is best to refuse to buy such a sofa.

First of all, after acquiring a sofa, it is recommended to get rid of all the unpleasant odors emanating from it. To do this, it is desirable to completely vacate the room, or the location of the sofa. If there are carpets in the rooms, they also need to be removed, otherwise they will begin to absorb the smell into themselves. Then you need to completely vacuum the room, after which you can proceed to the direct processing of the sofa. To do this, use the following methods:
- After weathering the premises, use natural sorbents. Aromatic gatherings from herbs, for example, lemon balm, mint or thyme, are best suited for this. Put herbs in bags of gauze, then spread them all over the room, including on the couch itself. You can use tea bags that need to be spread out over the entire surface of the sofa. Also a great way to remove odor is to use coffee.

- Fasten the sheet to the sofa, and then pour flavored sea salt onto it. Leave for several days, periodically the salt should be updated.

- Pour baking soda on the surface of the sofa, preferably left overnight. Then shake off all residues and vacuum.

- Take a terry sheet or towel, soak it with vinegar or peroxide solution. After that, squeeze the sheet, as it should be wet, not wet. Then cover her with a sofa for a couple of hours.

- Stir coffee and vanilla. Pour the mixture evenly over the entire surface of the sofa, leave for several hours, then vacuum thoroughly.

- Use an ozonizer. This device helps not only to get rid of an unpleasant smell, but also to clean the sofa cover from harmful components. This option is the most effective, but is relatively expensive.

Eliminate unpleasant odors immediately after purchase, they should not be felt for a long time, as this can worsen a person’s well-being.
