One of the most popular indoor plants is violet. Many colors and species make it a welcome flower on the windowsills. It blooms for a long time and is unpretentious in care.

Breeding
At the time of purchase, you need to inspect the leaflets, they should not be damaged. A growth point should be noticeable. There are several ways to reproduce. The most difficult to get a plant from a leaf is even for an experienced florist. Moreover, not all species can reproduce in this way. But only varieties with a green rosette. Variegated species are not suitable for such purposes. They are propagated by daughter shoots from the main stem. In this case, the new plant will retain the characteristics of the variety.

How to transport in winter
Often, when buying a plant, many make a mistake by allowing the roots of the violet to be supercooled, it can die from this. The transportation pot must be well insulated - wrapped in several layers of newspapers. But so as not to break the leaves.

How to choose a place
Despite the fact that plants need a lot of light, direct rays of the sun can leave burns on the leaves. It is better to put them on the windows of the east or west side. Suitable air temperature is 20–25 ° C. If there are a lot of violets, then for them you need to put separate shelves or a rack. This helps create a comfortable environment for them.

And it is also important to choose a pot for planting. It can be ceramic or plastic. But the diameter should be right. For young bushes - 5–6 cm, for adults - 10–12 cm. But there is a feature - the diameter of the pot should be three times less than the outlet.

The soil
Light substrates with peat are suitable for planting. They are sold in specialty stores. But you can make the composition yourself: for 2 parts of leafy soil they take 1 part of peat and 1/2 part of humus and sand. To increase friability, you can add pieces of sphagnum. At the bottom of the pot, lay a 2 cm drainage layer - pieces of polystyrene or expanded clay, which will help to avoid moisture stagnation.

Watering
Violets are poured with warm, settled water, including in winter. A good way is to put the pot in water at 1/3 of the height and leave for one and a half to two hours, and then excess moisture should drain. The leaves of violets have villi, they should not fall on them, especially in the center of the outlet.

Diseases and Pests
Often improper care can cause violet diseases. Overflows in combination with cold drafts on the windowsill can cause root decay and powdery mildew.

Young plants can become a tick. At the same time, phytoferm treatment conducted in the open air, for example, on a loggia, will help.
Care Tips:
- It is best to put flower pots on the northern windows, or shade them with dense curtains from direct sunlight;
- In order for the violet to develop evenly and be attractive, it should be turned once every 2-3 days;
- It is necessary to cut off wilted leaves and flowers;
- Keep away from drafts. It acts on the flower not very well. But the humidity in the room should be increased. It is best to put a violet in the kitchen, because there is constantly humid and warm air.
