Everyone wants to beautifully equip their own apartment. However, often "decorations" require a significant investment of hard cash. Even just re-sticking the wallpaper is not so cheap. This is where handicraft comes to the rescue! Anyone can create a couple of beautiful home decorations, such as designer pillowcases, garlands or felt paintings. I'll tell you about them today.

Pillows are often seen in the bedroom or on sofas. By decorating them, or rather the pillowcases on them, you can update the look in the room. In addition, painting is the most affordable way to decorate anything. In the case of fabric, it is best to take acrylic paints - they hold firmly even after washing. The process itself is not complicated at all:
- A protective cover is placed inside the pillowcase (unnecessary piece of wood or ordinary film).
- The drawing surface is firmly fixed, or even better - stretched over the canvas.
- The area where the arts will be located is limited to masking tape.
- The desired pattern is applied by any convenient means. The main thing is not to overdo it with the amount of paint on the instrument.
- The resulting composition is dried for.
The second way to make original cushions is embroidery. True, it will take much longer with it, and more skills will be required. Drawing will take much less man-hours.
Felt, but not a hat

However, something artistic can be created not only with the help of paints. However, the next decoration will require minimal sewing skills. I'm talking, of course, about felt crafts. This material is usually used for brooches and patches, but nothing prevents you from making a large applique out of it and inserting it into a frame. The process is outrageously simple:
- First you need to find a picture that you want to transfer to reality. Minimalist, polygonal or vector artwork is ideal.
- The picture is created in layers. For a tree, for example, the background will go first, then the trunk, foliage and fruits. The layers are stitched together with inconspicuous threads.
- Small details can be added with threads of other colors.
- The only thing left to do is to place the finished picture in a frame.
You can even create something voluminous with felt! However, for this you have to adapt and order a filler for soft toys. But even a simple image will look unusual because of its layering.

Garland is another easy way to decorate your interior. And I'm not talking about those glowing bulbs that hang around Christmas trees for the New Year. This decoration can be much more original. For example, you can print a couple of dozen memorable photos and make a garland out of them, attaching them to a string with small clothespins. Or you can cut out flags or paper lanterns yourself. The boundary is only imagination and a sense of beauty.
Décor with heat

Continuing the theme of creativity, I want to highlight such a universal thing as baked polymer clay. To work with it, you only need an oven (oven or microwave) and a simple set of tools. You can buy it at a stationery store, like the clay itself. You should not be afraid of prices - wooden fixtures are cheap, and by and large are optional. For starters, you can try to make small minimalistic animals out of clay. Let them cool off on the windowsill, decorating the interior. And as soon as your hand is full, you can go to pots, figurines and other author's decor elements.
Working with baked clay is simple:
- First, you need to knead it well and roll it out on the table (the main thing is not to forget to put an unnecessary oilcloth).
- Then separate a piece of the desired size and start sculpting.
- The finished figurine must be sent to the oven according to the instructions of the clay manufacturer.
- If, after the heat, cracks appear on the product, you need to cover them with the same clay and bake again.
- It should be painted after the oven. You can even use ordinary gouache for this.
