The third category of people is the most numerous. These are people of the Soviet temper and citizens who have joined them.

They have everything on the extra space. Here it is easy to find a baby pot and a dried fig tree, broken skis and a goalkeeper's uniform, three-liter cans with huge spiders and pieces of wallpaper, boards, panels, construction glue and buckets from under it.

All this splendor is completed by a disassembled bicycle, a fender from "Moskvich" and an old coat with a moth-eaten collar. Sometimes they try to dismantle such a dump, but it does not help much.

Why balconies were turned into storage

This custom came, most likely from communal apartments. Their tiny rooms were unable to accommodate everything the tenants were trying to store.

Then came era of general scarcity, when the garbage received not only a second, but, often, a third life. And a bunch of useful things could be made from an old bicycle, and glass jars were massively used for homemade preparations.

Then she came time for mass glazingwhen the dump on the balcony received an almost legalized status.

Currently, balconies are cluttered, most likely out of habit. Although the young advanced generation is trying to get rid of the trash immediately and forever.

How do they relate to balconies in our country

Unfortunately, having become the owners of this special area, most of our compatriots does not take the trouble to restore elementary order on the balcony.

Therefore, balconies become not a decoration of a building, but its problem. Even if these are glazed rooms. Trash accumulated over the years cannot be hidden behind glass.

Management companies are not distinguished by their responsibility either. It is they who must monitor the proper condition of the protruding plate. but collapsing balconies have become commonplace.

Is it possible in another way?

The answer is clear: yes, you can! To be convinced of this, it is enough to look at the foreign balconies. They look like pretty pictures. Decorated with wrought iron gratings and bright colors, such open spaces become a delight for the gaze of passers-by and a source of pride for the owners.

The foreign balcony becomes a full-fledged recreation room, where they usually sit on warm evenings or work on frosty days. An insulated room becomes a continuation of a room or kitchen, a "green corner" that residents of large and small cities need so much.
