  • Decor elements
  1. We start with the selection of threads. You can choose a plain yarn and then decorate it with pebbles, beads, etc. I chose a yarn with a color transition (gradient) in order to make my box look more like a basket. We select yarn
  2. To decorate the lid, I picked up a large flower. These flowers and other decorations can be purchased at any craft store. In order to make the bottom of the box and the lid, we need two old CDs. Old discs on the bottom and lid of the box
  3. How do we start work? I usually start with the lid. We take the disc, thread it through the hole (forming a loop) and tie a knot. Getting started - tying a loop
  4. instagram viewer
  5. Next we need a hook. We will thread the loop through the middle of the disc, grab it with a crochet hook and knit a regular chain. We knit a regular chain along the edge of the disk
  6. It is not difficult to do this, the work is going fast enough. Once again, we pick up the loop with our finger, pull the thread, hook it with a hook and knit a chain. As you can see, due to the fact that our yarn is not monochromatic, the lid acquires an uneven striped pattern, which looks very original. A striped pattern is formed
  7. When we have completely knitted the circle, we begin to knit a small side. We knit a small side
  8. For the cap, you can not knit the side. But I like it better when there is a side. It can be made higher, lower, you can make it 2 centimeters high and then tuck it up as you like. I knit a side in 2 rows with crochet loops.2-stitch collar with crochet
  9. Now we just bend it. The lid is almost ready. Casket lid
  10. We begin to knit the bottom in the same way as the lid, but we make the side high. The side of my box is 5cm. We begin to knit the side of the box itself
  11. I knit with one crochet loops. For this box, I have knitted 5 rows. 5-row sideboard
  12. So the box is ready. I want to give advice - if you save on threads in the process of tying the bottom, then when you start knit the sides, they will gather inside you, that is, the box will not have an even high edge. So knit loosely. Knit the box loosely
  13. In order to seal the edges of the box, I use a clear plastic wrap to help hold my rim. It is placed inside the box and is practically invisible.Transparent plastic to support the sides
  14. You can use cardboard, you don't have to reinforce the sides at all. The box holds its shape well enough. It all depends on the thread you are working with. The box keeps its shape very well
  15. It remains for us to decorate the lid. I attach the flower with hot glue. Flower glue gun
  16. Our box is completely ready. You can put tea bags, coffee bags, spices, or all sorts of small things in it. Such a box will look and look very harmoniously on the shelf, or among the flowers on your windowsill. CD box

Also, such a box can be used to store jewelry, all sorts of things and some kind of handicraft items. It can be made in any color and decorated as your heart desires. Hope you enjoyed my work!
