The essence of this redevelopment is to combine the living room and kitchen, while increasing the amount of space in the kitchen by "borrowing" free space from part of the corridor. From the rest it was decided to make a room for washing and storing clothes.

Initially, the question of joining a balcony to the kitchen was also considered, but they decided to abandon this idea due to its inconvenience. Finally, the window was extended to the floor and a sliding door was installed.

Pros and cons of combining living room and kitchen

When choosing materials, the choice was made rather not in the direction of beauty, but in the direction of practicality.

All surfaces should be easy to wash, clean and be resistant to detergents, since the kitchen is a place where you almost always need to wipe, wash and clean something.

Layout

Parts of the room are a cooking area with a sink and hob. And in the space that previously belonged to the corridor, it was eventually installed built-in appliances: microwave oven, oven, refrigerator and cupboards and the rest.

The advantage of the Liebherr built-in refrigerator is that it does not have a freezer compartment. A comfortable freshness zone has been installed in its place. The top of the refrigerator is a very small freezer that can hold several items. For the kitchen, this is quite a practical solution, because this refrigerator is quite spacious, and the freezer can be placed separately in any other place. Despite the fact that it is not very noticeable in the photographs, the refrigerator is located quite close to the work area.

Storage 

The basic order in the room is set by the symmetry of the arrangement of all structures. In the middle, just below the work area, there are two large and handy drawers, which are 1.20 meters wide. They can easily replace a large number of small cabinets that take up unnecessary space.

Bowls, pots, lids, pans and all other kitchen utensils are kept in the top drawer. The bottom contains dry food, such as cereals, cereals, sugar, etc. There is a separate place for cutlery in the upper cabinet.

All top cabinets are low enough to include two shelves. This is done for convenience and the ability to reach the desired product or thing, excluding the option in order to stand on a chair. Plus, there was no need to make them too big.

It was decided to arrange the mugs, tea and coffee, as well as spices for storage in a cabinet located above the hob on the left side. Dishes intended for daily use take their rightful place above the sink, also in the cupboard. Along the wall, along the entire width above the working surface, there is a special long "hanger», Designed to store all things necessary for cooking. For example, for potholders, ladles, towels, etc. This solution is very practical.

Technics 

Built-in microwave and refrigerator, electric kettle and electric hob, oven with an additional pyrolytic cleaning function, a dishwasher is standard in this kitchen.

A little later, a combine was purchased, which is placed in the assembled state in a built-in cabinet and is easily removed. Also, a multicooker and electronic scales were added to the set of standard equipment. This set of equipment is quite enough.

It was decided to make the sink in black, exactly the same as the hob, with which it is now perfectly combined. The sink is large and easy to clean, but the main rule in cleaning a black headset is a complete rejection of powders.

The advantage of the installed hood is that it is invisible, since it is built into the closet. In addition to its compactness, it also does its job well.

The portal is dark brown with a bar counter made of solid oak, faced with natural wood and serves as the border between the kitchen and the living room. Bar counter Is a good thing for bringing people on vacation and people in the kitchen together, allowing them to communicate. The option with a bar counter allows you to zone the room, making it clear where the living room is and where the kitchen is.

A milky white table joins the bar and initially accommodates four people, but its functionality includes a sliding function, which allows you to increase the number of seats at the table by two times.

The disadvantage of a glass table is that it is very noisy, therefore it is necessary to use coasters and mats to avoid its "rattling". The advantage is its simplicity in cleaning, as well as a reduced likelihood of minor damages and scratches. Chairs upholstered with ecological leather also lend themselves well to cleaning. There is a hinged shelf directly behind the table.

Lighting is distributed according to zones in the room: the lockers have their own backlight, the table and chairs are illuminated with a hanging light, and three large light sources are located above the cooking area.

The rich orange color of the kitchen does not look too bright, but it is diluted with a light the colors of the walls, the white front of the furniture and the tiles on the part of the wall between the worktop and the tops lockers. The contrast created in this way will remain in vogue for a very long time, and the combination of furniture with dark colors gives a "tasty" and juicy look to the room. This gives the kitchen a modern look. A faucet and a hanger for the tools necessary for working in the kitchen look very good against the background of glossy tiles with bricks. The layout of the working area is very efficient. Sufficient space from the sink to the oven, organizing the lower part of the facades into a small portal. This solution looks like a design approach and focuses on the integrity and evenness of the lower facades. Perhaps, a white hob would fit well into the interior of the working area, which is why the white sink would not draw much attention to itself. High and wide modules help to achieve unity and conciseness of the area with a microwave oven, refrigerator and oven. The issue with the dining group is perfectly resolved. Zoning the combined living room and kitchen using a bar is no longer considered a novelty, but in the apartment in question it looks perfect as never before. The table goes well with the overall interior of the kitchen and complements the dining area well. It would not hurt to improvise on the design of the radiator.
