DIY cardboard box

I was cleaning my bedroom and found that all my jewelry was scattered in many small boxes. I decided to create one large box in which everything you need would fit.

1. Cardboard about 1 square meter;
2. Artificial leather 20 * 100 cm;
3. Fabric 50 * 50 cm;
4. Titanium glue;
5. Decorative ornaments.

I didn’t indicate which elements I needed to decorate the box, since Everyone can make the decor to their liking.

So, the first stage, which we will call the "pattern", begins with the construction of the figure on the cardboard. To do this, we build a square with sides of 17 cm (you can at your discretion). To each side we add bumpers with a height of 6 cm, and then another one of the same height.

Now we cut out our shape. The red zigzag marks the places where the cut needs to be made. Our box is almost complete. It remains to glue the fabric on it and put it together.

Stage two: cover. For the lid, we cut out a rectangle of 46.5 * 21 cm from cardboard. We divide it into three parts in length: 20 cm, 6.5 cm, 20 cm. We bend a strip 6.5 by 21 cm in the middle. It turns out a cover, like for a book.

Cover the cover completely with artificial leather.

I cut off the excess leather on the sides, and glued shiny yarn to the joint. But you can process the slices in any way you like.

Stage three: assembly. By this time, our box is already dry and ready for assembly. We just have to cut off the excess fabric.

Now that our cover is dry, we can put the box together.

We glue the bottom of the box and the side strip of the cover. Leave to dry under a small press.

As a decoration, I used gold-colored trimming tape and stones.

Now I have all my jewelry in one place.
