There are several ways to remove the top cover of the washing machine. The choice of a specific instruction depends on which device you need to deal with. Most often, front-loading models are used, although there are also vertical devices. The algorithm of action for each case is described in the article.

Which cars can take off the cover
First of all, you should figure out which units it is possible to remove the cover from above. It should be mentioned here that there are 2 types of washers:
- Frontal.
- Vertical.
The first are classic models, in which things are loaded from the side, i.e. open the door on the front panel and put in the drum. It is easy to understand how to remove the cover from this type of washing machine. It is enough to unscrew the bolts and remove the panel.
But there are also top-loading machines, in which the lid opens in order to put clothes. Such a panel can also be removed - for this, the fastening bolts are removed from one side.
In this case, it is worth considering that in some cases it will not work to remove the cover from the washing machine. Each model has its own characteristics, some types of top panels are non-separable. Especially often devices that were produced before 2012 are equipped with such covers.
Step-by-step instruction
Understanding how to remove the cover of the washing machine is not difficult. This operation is necessary in cases where you need to gain access to sensors, wiring or other parts. The sequence of actions is as follows:
- To remove the top cover of the washing machine, you must first unplug it and slide it out. Next, they approach the back side and unscrew the fasteners.
- Next, the cover is gently pushed backwards to push it away, as shown in the photo.
- Now it’s clear how to remove the front cover of the washing machine. At the moment when the panel leaves the guide groove, you can remove it. Then you can proceed to the inspection and repair of damaged parts.
- Next, the panel is put back and fixed with fasteners.
If a top-loading machine
It is quite clear that the device of the Indesit top-loading washing machine is somewhat different from the classic front-facing models described above. In this case, the removal instructions are as follows:
- Understanding how to open the top cover of the washing machine is easy. It is regularly opened before and after washing. But to start disassembly, you need to act differently. First, the unit is disconnected from the network.
- Next, unscrew 2 screws under the control panel (they are on the left and right, shown in the photo).
- Raise the control unit - it lends itself easily, no additional effort is required.
- The next step in the instructions on how to remove the top cover is related to repairing the parts that are inside. Often, rust and smudges collect on the plastic case from the inside. They must be eliminated.
- Then, if necessary, other elements are repaired, new spare parts are installed, after which the cover is returned to its place and the screws are tightened again.
Why remove the lid
The instructions on how to disassemble the Indesit WISL 82 washing machine or other models describe both the process itself and its tasks. Dismantling is necessary to repair various parts, for example:
- The inlet valve is a pump that supplies the washing liquid. As a rule, it is located at the back in one of the corners.
- Tray for falling asleep powder, pouring air conditioner. It is pulled out in several stages. To do this, you need to pull the plastic part towards you, loosen it slightly from side to side. Next, you should take hold of the body (but just do not take the handle) and lift it up, while pulling it towards you.
- There is such an important detail as the pressure switch. This is the name of the sensor that monitors the level of the liquid. If the water drains slowly or at the wrong time, repair or replacement of the part will be required.
- Concrete top counterweight - by itself, it does not break with rare exceptions. But this part will need to be removed if access to the drum, bearings or oil seal is required.
- A surge protector is a special element that dampens power surges and protects the machine from them. It will need to be replaced in case of a sharp drop in the network, the appearance of a burning smell.
- Finally, it may be necessary to replace the lid of a top-loading washing machine or classic front-facing models. In this case, it is completely dismantled, a new panel is installed and bolted.
Difficult cases
In practice, it is not always easy to understand how to remove the top cover from the washing machine. There are also difficult cases when the panel is attached differently. This is especially often observed in Ardo models. The instructions for removing the panel are as follows:
- First, remove the screws and lift the lid.
- Then again lift the panel and at the same time move it forward.
- If it doesn’t work out, you need to feel the right angle at which it is convenient to work. After a few attempts, you will be able to remove the panel.
There is no doubt whether it is possible to remove the cover from the washing machine. This is a fairly simple operation, which only sometimes can cause some difficulties. It is not necessary to call the master for dismantling. But if there is any doubt about the correctness of further repair actions, for example, a pressure switch, it is better to contact a specialist.
