What are the types of machine printing: photo and description - Setafi

Photo printing machines are classified according to many criteria. Among them, the most important are the design, type and format of printing, the number of colors. There are additional criteria, which are also described in detail in the submitted material.

Design of printing machines

Understanding what types of machine printing exist, you should start by studying the design. According to this indicator, the following types of devices are distinguished:

  1. Crucible equipped with a press, which presses the paper and creates pressure. They are also equipped with a metal plate (thaler) with a printing plate. The printing speed is about 1000-3500 cycles per hour.
  2. Flatbed - with a flat shape and an impression cylinder, which presses the paper. Such devices make embossing on prints, as well as die-cutting on labels and die-cuts. In print, as such, they are practically not used.
  3. Rotary are equipped with a plate cylinder that presses the paper and creates printing pressure. Modern offset printing machines, which are most common, also belong to this type.

  4. Digital - modern models, the design and principle of which resembles laser printers.
Classification of printing machines

It should be noted that rotary types of printing presses are divided into roll (paper is fed from a roll) and sheet (served in sheets). In turn, roll devices are divided into newspaper and book-magazine machines.

Other classifications

There are other signs by which several groups of printing machines are distinguished:

  1. Type of product - models of a universal and specialized type (on the latter, you can only print a newspaper, a magazine, or print on textiles, for example, on clothes).
  2. Weight - light or heavy. The latter are more stable and dimensional, dampen vibrations well, and therefore provide high-quality images. Lightweight color digital presses are easier to transport and can be mounted on virtually any foundation.
  3. Number of colors: single, double and multi-color devices. The former are used for fast printing of inexpensive products, the latter in small printing houses, for example, for printing a newspaper with black and red letters. Multicolor is used for the manufacture of high quality color products.
  4. Types of sections - drying, varnishing, laminating, die-cutting. Additional equipment for cutting, embossing can also be installed.
  5. The structure is linear, tower (tiered), planetary, carousel.
  6. There is also a type of printing machine that allows you to print on both sides or on one side. But there are also combined models that can work in both modes.
  7. Another classification of printing machines is related to the print format. It can be small, medium, full or large. Wide-format printing devices are also common, on which paper 1.4-2 m long or more can be used.
  8. Finally, the type of printing is also important - it can be deep, screen, offset and high (typographic).
Photo Printing Machines

Choosing a printing machine, first of all, you need to proceed from the features of the product. For typical flyers, brochures, inexpensive devices with small format printing in 1 or 2 colors are suitable. But if you intend to produce quality products, you should stay on professional heavy machines that can work in different formats and provide high-quality printing.
