Depth of entry into the soil. If your future device cannot enter the ground more than 10 cm, it is of little use. This is because some roots and weeds go deep underground by 30-50, or even a hundred centimeters.

The aerator is convenient when it combines a verticutter or a scarifier. With just a few extra tines, it's easier to get the tubes under the soil and plow your lawn thoroughly.

Some manufacturers produce models with adjustable knife insertion depth. This is done independently or with a button on the dashboard.

For large lawns, it is better to choose a device with wide teeth. Think for yourself how much energy you will spend processing hundreds of meters with a narrow aerator.

The body can be made of plastic or metal. The second option is more reliable, but much more expensive than usual.
