How to check the heater and temperature sensor
Replacing the heating element in the dishwasher is possible only after proper diagnosis. Moreover, you need to check not only the heating element itself, but also the sensor that determines the temperature. This device has several names:
- temperature sensor (classic version);
- thermistor (same as temperature sensor);
- thermistor (a kind of sensor, used mainly in modern devices).
The main sign, clearly indicating that a replacement of the heating element in a Bosch dishwasher is needed, is associated with a thermometer. If the readings on the device do not change during the operation of the device, that is, the temperature does not actually increase, this clearly indicates a failure.
However, this may not be enough, so it is important to more accurately understand how to check the dishwasher heater. This requires the following tools:
- a set of screwdrivers (regular and curly);
- multimeter;
- awl;
- pliers.
Disconnect the device from the mains, close the tap, dismantle the drain hose and proceed as follows:
- Pull the unit out and turn it upside down.
- If the machine is a free-standing type, remove the panel from the back, and if it is built-in, then from the side.
