What pneumatics is considered dangerous. Which airguns require a license?
Let's be clear right away - not all pneumatics are considered weapons. It has already been mentioned that there is no single law governing airguns. There are only a couple of orders, a resolution and an article in the Criminal Code.
In them, pneumatics with a caliber of 4.5 millimeters and an initial velocity of an outgoing bullet of 100 meters per second are considered “dangerous weapons” (hereinafter referred to as the requirements). We will start from these data.
If at least one of these requirements is not met, the weapon is not classified as dangerous - it does not require documents. For example, 4.4 millimeters and 100 meters per second, 4.5 millimeters and 99 meters per second, 3.2 millimeters and 106 meters per second, 4.6 mm and 92 meters per second.
What documents are needed for pneumatics. How to get a pneumatics license. Is it possible to transport pneumatics by mail
In order to legally store/use pneumatics equal to or above the above requirements, a license or permit is required. You can get it at the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. To obtain a permit/license, you will need:
- Copy of the passport
- 4 photos 3 by 4 centimeters
- Receipt for the purchase of weapons
- Help 127-OBL (obtained in the hospital)
- certificate of good conduct
- Completed application card
- A printed or handwritten application for a permit (in the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs)
Regarding the transportation of pneumatics by mail:
Weapon requirements equal to or greater than specified (caliber 4.5 mm, muzzle velocity 100 meters per second) - not allowed to be transported by mail. Criminal punishment for trying to send such pneumatics by mail.
At least one requirement less than the specified - pneumatic weapons can be transported by mail.
How old do you have to be to buy/use an air pistol
There is no age limit for purchasing airguns - they are not listed anywhere, but a license/permit is required to legally own airguns with the above or higher requirements. It is issued only with a passport.
Therefore, you can store and use pneumatics only from the age of 18.
If the requirements of your weapon are below those indicated, then there is no age limit for use / purchase.
Rules for the storage / transportation of pneumatics. Can I carry an air gun
You need to store different types of pneumatics in different ways. Most often, the Ministry of Internal Affairs says that your weapons should be stored in a metal safe with a wall thickness of 1.5 millimeters and a front panel of 2 millimeters. The safe must be secured to both the floor and the wall. So you need to store pneumatics with the specified or greater requirements.
Such weapons can be transported only in a discharged state, in a specialized carrying case - a suitcase or case, away from the cartridges.
Carrying a pneumatic weapon with a caliber of 4.5 mm and a bullet speed of 100 m / s is prohibited. It is not issued for self-defense. Carrying such weapons is punishable by law.
There are no restrictions on storage/transportation/carrying of airguns with lower requirements.
