I decided to experience all the benefits of royal jelly produced by bees. But I learned that with improper storage, it quickly loses its beneficial properties. So I suggest to make out how to properly store bee jelly.
Useful properties of the product
Royal jelly is a truly unique product. This is a secretion with a milky color, which is produced by honey bees for feeding the bee offspring and the uterus. Hence the name "royal jelly".
Despite the fact that the milk has not been fully studied by scientists, many of its beneficial properties are already known. The use of the product 1-3 times a day (depending on the health and age of the person) has a healing effect on the body.
- Nervous system. Milk is very useful for the nervous system. It relieves stress, eliminates migraine and insomnia, increases efficiency.
- The immune system. The product stimulates the immune system, has antiviral, antibacterial and antimicrobial action.
- The cardiovascular system. Bee jelly lowers cholesterol, activates lipid metabolism and levels blood pressure.
- Leather. Uterine secretion improves the structure of the skin, smoothes small wrinkles and restores the natural color of the skin.
But do not forget that, despite all the benefits, there is a product and contraindications. It can not be used when:
- tumors;
- Addison disease;
- adrenal gland problems;
- acute infectious diseases;
- allergic reaction to bee products.
Storage features
Only extracted royal jelly has a beautiful pearly luster and a pleasant sourish and spicy flavor. But remember that royal jelly is a perishable product. And in order to preserve all its useful properties, it is important to strictly follow several rules.
Temperature and storage tanks
Royal jelly bee is collected using special glass blades manually or with a vacuum pump. Almost immediately, the product must provide the correct storage capacity and temperature.
I will begin, perhaps, with capacity. For the storage of royal jelly is usually used one of the 3 types.
Picture | Type of capacity |
Mothercap (on the photo) This is a natural “packaging” of a product from which it can be consumed only in the first two hours after extraction. |
|
Syringe dispenser Perfect for the transport of bee jelly, as it provides full tightness. In addition, the syringe allows you to accurately mark the required amount of jelly. |
|
Small bottle A 50-100 ml dark glass bottle is a great way to store royal jelly. Hermetically sealed vessel allows you to save the product for up to two years. |
As I have already written, temperature is another important point in the storage of bee jelly. Beekeepers have derived a direct relationship between the temperature and the duration of storage of the product:
- - 1 ° C - in this mode, the product is stored for 2 months;
- - 2… -5 ° C - The term is extended to 6 months;
- - 10 ° C - allows you to store bee milk up to 12 months;
- -15... -20 ° C - at this temperature, the milk can be stored for 1.5-2 years.
Storage methods: 3 options
To extend the shelf life of the milk, beekeepers recommend mixing it with other products:

With honey So, how to store honey with royal jelly?

|
With vodka Another option that allows you to extend the shelf life of the product with your own hands without losing its useful properties. Mix 10 g of bee jelly with 90 ml of vodka. The only drawback of such a suspension is that it cannot be consumed by children or pregnant women. |
|
Adsorption When collected on an industrial scale, it is adsorbed with a mixture of lactose and glucose (98% to 2%). You can also resort to this method.
