Folk remedies against plaque

There are a lot of ways to clean the hood in the kitchen. The use of these recommendations will avoid the need to purchase expensive cleaning products and quickly remove the fat from the parts of the hood without extra costs, improvised means.

  • The easiest way is to soak all removable parts of the device( mesh, filter, grid) in a solution of soap or dishwashing detergent. When making the solution, you should use detergent and water in a ratio of 1 to 4. After some time, it is necessary to rinse the parts with boiling water and wash them with a sponge, then dry and place them in the hood.
  • Purification with soda. In case of severe contamination of the grid and the filter, they can be cleaned by boiling soda in solution. To do this, take a large container in which you can put the whole parts, fill it with water and put it on the stove. Heating the water, you should constantly fill the soda in the tank, stirring continuously, so that it dissolves. After boiling the mixture, it is necessary to place a grid and filters in it, then boil for about half an hour. This will effectively remove even ingrained grease from parts.
  • Cleaning with soap. Ordinary laundry soap will make it easy to cope with a greasy bloom. To do this, rub the soap into a container with hot water and put the exhaust parts there to soak it. After some time, it is necessary to remove the filters and the grate from the tank and remove the remaining fat with a stiff sponge or scraper.
  • Cleaning parts with vinegar. Effectively remove grease from parts of the hood will allow such an affordable tool as vinegar. Only use undiluted vinegar to maximize the effect of the cleaning. Vinegar should be handled with gloves to avoid skin irritation. It should be applied to the removable parts of vinegar and leave for 15-20 minutes to dissolve dirt. Then wash off the remaining dirt with a sponge and carefully rinse the grill and filters with running water.
  • Using citric acid for cleaning. In addition to acetic acid, citric acid will perfectly cope with the task of washing the extract, lemon juice will also work. As in the case of vinegar, the product should not be diluted so that its effectiveness does not decrease. Citric acid or squeezed lemon juice should be applied to the removed parts of the hood, wait for the fat to dissolve, then wipe with a sponge and rinse with water. If the first time did not manage to remove all the pollution, the manipulation will have to be repeated several times.

Cleaning the hood of the kitchen hood

In addition to the need to clean the "insides" of the kitchen hood at home, cleaning the external case of the device is important. Dust and grease deposited on the surface, stick together and dry out. New layers of grease and dust settle onto this crust and as a result it can be difficult to clean the outer surface of the hood. Therefore, the cap device must be processed regularly.

Wash the outer surface is not difficult when you perform simple recommendations. First of all, you should take a grease dissolving agent( for example, for washing dishes), apply to the surface and leave for some time. Then use the sponge to clean the cap of the device. If small traces of dirt remain, you can try to remove them with a special plastic scraper. It is unacceptable to use metal: it can scratch the surface.

You can also try to remove heavy dirt with a lemon: to do this, cut the fruit in half and process the gripped dirt in half. Exposure to citric acid will even cope with persistent pollution, but remember that diluting lemon juice is unacceptable: it will reduce the intensity of exposure to acid.

How often should the hood be cleaned in the kitchen?

The frequency with which the cleaning of the hood should be done depends on the cooking intensity and, accordingly, the device operation time. Not the last role is played by the time that the hostess has: if you wish, you can wash the hood quite often, but there is no need for daily cleaning, despite regular use of this device.

It is recommended to do general cleaning of the premises and cleaning the kitchen hood at least once a quarter. All components of the hood, including the pipe leading to the duct, should be cleaned. Particular attention should be paid to keeping the kitchen hood grill clean: the best option would be to wash this removable part at least once a month.

Some modern hoods are equipped with disposable removable filters: these parts can be simply replaced with new ones after the old ones become dirty. In the majority of old modifications this possibility is not foreseen, therefore washing the grate is an inevitable necessity. An excellent option would be to regularly wash the grill in the dishwasher: this will save time and effort and bring the desired result.
