How to replace the springs, shock absorbers, dampers in the washing machine

click fraud protection

The design of modern washing machines implies the availability of parts that reduce noise and vibration. Tank damping is performed by a spring damper and a shock absorber. If the machine starts to work too noisily, vibrate and sway during washing, then these parts are out of order.

The article will discuss how to change the shock absorbers and dampers. We will step by step consider the whole process of replacement and give valuable recommendations with photos and videos. Asdthat shock absorbers in different models may have dramatic differences. But in general, their construction is as follows:

  • cylinder;
  • piston;
  • return spring;
  • stock;
  • locking sleeves and liners in the springs of the shock absorbers;
  • gasket between the cylinder and the piston.

As we have said, the task of the shock absorber in the SMA is to damp the vibrations of the tank. The effect of weakening the vibrations is achieved due to the movement of the piston, which is located inside the cylinder.

Gasket soaked with grease that does not dry. When the tank oscillates, the piston enters the cylinder, quenching the vibration. A damper spring brings the piston to its original position.

In addition to lubrication, impregnating the insert, vibration is quenched by specially provided holes in the piston. On them air passes from one part of the piston to another and back.

Important! For the washing machine to work without breakdowns, the force in the shock absorber must be stable. For the maintenance of stability is responsible for several nodes of the shock absorber. That is why the wizard is not advised to undertake the repair of this part. It's easier to throw out the old one and buy a new one.

Replacing shock absorbers

These parts differ in the type of fixation. Some are mounted strictly vertically, others - slightly at an angle. On the one hand, the shock absorber is attached to the tank, on the other hand, like the damper, it is attached to the body.

Sometimes these parts are attached with a rod. In this case, to replace the defective part, you need to disassemble the entire washer and remove the tank. Here the complexity of the work depends on your model AGR.

As we have said, the shock absorbers are not repaired, so if you disassembled the part and came to the conclusion that the shock absorber spring broke, you can, of course, change it. But whether you find it on sale is another question. Moreover, you may need to insert the spring shock absorber and other parts.

If you decide to replace the shock absorbers, use the information from the video:

Damper:

design By construction it is not much different from the details described above.

With regard to damping tank oscillations, the dampers for this part of the indicators is much better. They are more reliable because the springs returning the piston to the place are located outside. Often a broken damper can be repaired in the event of a breakdown, which cannot be said about shock absorbers.

They are located in pairs below and perform two functions at once:

  1. Support the tank.
  2. Extinguish tank oscillations.

In such constructions, the tank is fixed on top with two more additional springs.

Repair and replacement of the damper with a pressed liner.

The indicated dampers are ubiquitous and are used by many manufacturers of washing machines.

The damper dampens vibrations due to the friction of the piston, which is tightly clamped by liners. Clamping inserts occurs with the help of the bracket, the design of which resembles the letter "P".The latter is mounted inside the CM with a special gasket.

It happens that the strength of the fit of such liners noticeably weakens. Vibrations are getting worse all the time, but replacing the damper is not required - repair will help.

If the vibrations are stronger, you need to tighten the bracket tightly or replace the liners, in case of wear:

  1. Unscrew the 4 fasteners securing the bracket.
  2. Remove the bracket.
  3. Unscrew the "mustache" details.
  4. Remove the old liners.
  5. Install New.
  6. Assemble the damper back.

Features of

Replacement Dampers are provided with specialized holes to which they are attached.

The locking elements most often act as bolts. Remove these bolts, as well as any fasteners, will not be difficult. Having done this, you can easily remove the broken part and install a new one in its place.

In this video, a wizard from the UK shows how to change the damper by working through the bottom of a washing machine. If you are the owner of a similar model, then do the same:

Springs: purpose, replacement

The spring tank of the washing machine is paired with the same spring at the top of the washer housing. This complex holds the tank and returns it to its original position.

The return spring has two ends, each with a hook. On the one hand, the spring is hooked to the body of the CMA, the other hook holds the tank. Breakage of springs usually occurs near the mount. To remove the spring, it is not necessary to observe a strict sequence - you can disconnect it first from the body, and then from the tank or vice versa - it does not matter.

Before replacing the spring, you need to decide how you will remove the defective part.

You can remove it through the attachment point to the tank. To do this:

  1. Remove the top panel.
  2. Raise the tank as high as possible and lock it in this position. For fixing, you can use wooden pads.
  3. Tension the spring to the side of the tank.
  4. Take the pliers and unhook the spring from the tank.
  5. The last thing to do is to disconnect the part from the body of the machine.

You can also remove the spring through the top of the machine:

  1. The first two steps are similar to those listed above.
  2. Holding the spring with your hand, pick up the securing hook with a thin screwdriver.
  3. Unhook the spring from the housing.
  4. Take her aside and unhook from the bottom.

Caution! If you are disturbed by some parts, you will have to remove them.

We are often asked how to replace the spring. If you act on science and hope that the machine will work longer, it is better to change the spring to the original part.

We wish you a successful repair. Successfully replace the springs, dampers or shock absorbers, and the machine will work just as quietly as after the purchase.
