To build an open deck without a canopy, you first need to think through the design and calculate the amount of material. It is better to determine the size of the flooring in advance, which will depend on the size of the garden house.

Work technology

Construction consists of a number of successive stages:

1. To the house along the entire length, it is necessary to evenly fix the longitudinal beam using self-tapping screws. In order to protect against moisture, it is possible to install a metal abutment bar, and seal the joint connecting the bar and the wall of the house with sealant.

2. The foundation is arranged on concrete blocks that are installed in small square pits.
3. Supporting beams are placed on the blocks, which are parallel to the longitudinal beam. The distance between the beams should not exceed 1.8 meters.
4. The support beams are adjustable so that they are on the same level. Then you need to make a slope towards the edge of the terrace by 1-2 cm to drain rainwater.
5. In steps of 40-50 cm from the side edges, wooden logs are mounted. You can fix them with screws or standard mounts.
6. After the construction of the frame, they begin to fasten the flooring boards. It is better to drill self-tapping screws a little in a board so as not to cling with legs to hats. You can also close them later with special plugs or cover them with mastic. Boards must be laid with a gap for water drainage.
7. It is advisable to sand the side surface of the flooring so that there are no bumps.
8. You can varnish or paint the floor boards after thorough cleaning and only in good weather. You can use stain immediately with varnish. This will eliminate double painting work.
9. It is recommended to decorate the finished terrace with flowers in a cache-pot and decorative lamps. For the terrace, you can also make a table and chairs with your own hands.

The construction of such an open terrace will require not so much cost and time, but it will turn out to be a pretty cozy place for a family holiday in the country in your free time from gardening.
