Glass and mirror

If you need to make a hole with a large diameter, it is better to use a tubular drill with a diamond coating.
Before drilling, the glass is laid on a flat wooden surface, the place of the future hole is degreased with alcohol or acetone. The surface should be well fixed.
The drill must be able to adjust the speed and in no case can it be pressed, this will lead to the destruction of the material. You need to start drilling from low revs, if necessary, you can slightly increase them. It is important to cool the drill from time to time, because overheating can also lead to destruction of the material.
After the hole is drilled, you need to go around the edges with fine scribbled paper so as not to get hurt about them.
Tile
To make holes in the tiles, spear-shaped sharpened drills are suitable. On the surface there is a place for future holes. The drill must be variable speed.
Drilling starts at low speeds. It is not recommended to press hard on the drill. In the course of the recess in the tile, the speed increases to medium. If necessary, the drill must be cooled. When the drill reaches the wall, it is recommended to replace it with one suitable for the material of which the wall is made. You need to switch the drill to shock mode and in the middle mode, drill a hole to the desired depth.
In general, following all the above instructions, drilling a brittle material is not difficult. But if you are not confident in your own abilities, experts advise to first practice on unnecessary pieces of glass, a mirror or tile and then start “finishing” work.
