How to paste an inconspicuous patch on the wallpaper

Wallpaper can be damaged quite easily. This can be done during repairs, furniture removal, or in other circumstances. Repair of the wall will depend on the nature of the damage on it.

How to put patches on the wallpaper:

• when removing the scratch, you will need PVA glue, a brush and a hairdryer. We glue with a brush and remove excess glue with a damp cloth. At the same time, we press the scratch against the wall. Dry the glue with a hairdryer, and press the wallpaper again. If there is no brush, then you can use a toothpick. With a large scratch, we bend the edges of the wallpaper and coat them with glue;
• if the wallpaper is torn, then you can stick this piece in place. To do this, cover the wallpaper with PVA glue, and apply them to the place where they came off. In the same way, iron with a damp cloth and blow dry with a hairdryer. When the torn off piece is lost or torn to shreds by a cat, then we make a patch from the old stocks of wallpaper. If the wallpaper is vinyl, then you need to choose a special glue. If desired, the patch can not be cut, but torn off for gluing, then the base will be slightly thinner and easier to stick;

• a damaged piece of wallpaper is best cut from the wall with a special paint knife. After that, we soak that part of the wallpaper that is damaged by water, so that they more easily move away. Cut the patch from the wallpaper with a margin of 5 cm at the edges, fitting the pattern, if any. We glue the patch and the wall with glue, apply it, carefully adjusting the pattern. Iron with a rag. After that, we carefully cut the patch and edge of the wallpaper at the junction to remove overlap. After that, carefully iron the edges of the finished patch and wallpaper. If the work is done carefully, then the damaged piece is not visible;
• if the wallpaper is just behind the wall, then we bend this part and see how the putty behaves. If it has crumbled, then you need to vacuum the garbage, putty and primer the wall. After that, let the surface dry, and then glue the wall and wallpaper with glue, smooth this area. Dry with a hairdryer. Wipe the finished result with a cloth;
• in the event of gaps between the wallpaper, they can be masked with paint to match the wallpaper. If they suddenly go apart, it will not be noticeable. This is done before wallpapering, the line is drawn with a pencil. You can mask the discrepancies even after pasting, if the wallpaper is light. You just need to walk across the seam with liquid putty with your finger. After that, wipe the masking area with a dry cloth.

These several repair methods can be carried out if the wallpaper is damaged, and repair is not yet included in the plans. They are quite simple, but require skill and accuracy.
