Sandwich panels: economy, practicality, attractiveness

The modern building materials market offers a wide selection of products with which you can quickly and efficiently build a residential building. To save on work, you can turn your attention to such modern building materials as sandwich panels.

/

This is a multilayer type material, the strength of which is comparable to natural stone, and heat resistance - to wood.

/

These panels look like a compressed sandwich. On both sides of the panel there are 2 galvanized or wooden plates, between which there is a layer of expanded polystyrene. On the sides of the sandwich panels, groove-ridge joints are installed.

/

This material has many advantages, one of which is a high degree of strength. Sandwich panels can withstand loads of up to 2 tons. However, this is not all. The material can withstand up to 10 tons of longitudinal load.

/

Sandwich panel building projects come in two varieties:

  1. Specialized - projects that are created specifically for this material.
  2. Adapted - projects of wooden or brick houses where sandwich panels are used as an auxiliary material.

Choosing a sandwich panel as a building material, you should remember these rules:

  1. The most economical version of the house is the construction of a cubic shape. That is, the stronger the form of construction will differ from the cube, the more expensive the construction work will become. This must be taken into account when sizing.
  2. When zoning the space in the house, you first need to pay attention to the practicality of the allocated zones. You should also pay attention to the places of installation of sewage, ventilation, water supply and other utilities.
  3. Do not create too spacious rooms in the house from sandwich panels. Remember that a space whose length exceeds 5 meters requires the installation of additional support elements.
  4. When creating a dwelling project from sandwich panels, it is not necessary to replace the second floor with an attic. Otherwise, you will not only face additional financial costs, but also lose a lot of time. Because the attic will turn out, to put it mildly, not very high quality.
  5. You should refrain from complex roof structures. Not only will they be expensive, but they can quickly become worthless. It is better to give preference to standard options that are considered more reliable and durable. This rule applies to ventilation ducts and chimneys.
