Self-leveling mixes for floor screed

1. Before proceeding with the installation, you need to prepare the foundation. Namely, it is good to close up the existing cracks, to clean it of dirt and dust, to dry the surface well.
2. If mistakes were made during the installation of the screed, it is very difficult to remove.
3. It has a higher cost compared to peers.
4. As part of this mixture there are plasticizers that are capable of releasing toxic substances that pose a danger to human health. Therefore, in the process of drying the surface, the room should be well ventilated. And during filling use PPE.

Such mixtures are of two types:

• For roughing - used exclusively before finishing the floor;
• Thin-layer - are used as a decorative finish.

Composition of rough screed:

• Composition based on gypsum or cement;
• Sand or gravel;
• Plasticizers.

Such compositions are used as a leveling mixture, after which the finish coating is installed. It can be parquet, laminate, tile, natural or artificial stone.

Thanks to such compositions, a perfectly flat floor surface is obtained.

Difference in purpose of use

Such mixtures are:

• Standard - used for rough alignment;
• Final - as a final surface preparation;
• The leveler is used as a finish.

By scope there are:

• Internal - used for residential, office and industrial premises;
• External - for exterior decoration;
• Universal - can be used in different cases.

By installation method:

• Manual - use hand tools for application;
• For application by professional tools;
• Combined.

By the type of binder component used:

• Epoxy;
• Polyurethane - used for mounting a 3D floor;
• Methyl methacrylate - for industrial premises;
• Polymer-cement - such mixtures perfectly cope with significant temperature fluctuations and significant loads.
