Design and major faults

This device is very simple in structure. Basically, a blender consists of an electric motor, a nozzle and a bowl (only for a stationary one). There are two types of devices:

1. Manual, submersible (Bimatek BL, Kenwood, Krups, Orion);
2. Stationary (Moulinex, Panasonic, Gorenje, Zelmer).

Manual ones are a motor with a handle to which a nozzle is attached. The key difference between a hand and stationary blender is how it works. Food is poured into the stationary bowl, which is crushed by the knives located at its bottom. The manual one is immersed in a container (most often in a special glass) and cuts food at any level.

The main types of equipment malfunctions:

1. The device does not rotate. This is a knife speed switch problem;
2. A household appliance does not chop or malfunction. In the mixer and blender, power plays a very important role. If an insufficiently powerful or high-quality type is selected, then the efficiency will be low;
3. The device does not turn on. Perhaps something is stuck inside the chopper or the engine burned out due to very intense work. Also, in some cases, a decrease in the voltage in the electrical network affects this;
4. Do not switch modes. This is most likely a drive or control problem;
5. The knife broke. The most common problem. These parts from the blender are sold in almost any company store (Vitek, Redmond RHB, Scarlett - Scarlet, etc.), they cannot be repaired, therefore, a replacement is being carried out.

Repair instructions

Before you repair the device, you need to disassemble it. It should be noted right away that disassembling the Brown, Saturn, Bork and Vitek hand blenders is impossible. Their design is molded plastic. A plastic ring that cannot be removed is soldered to the base. Therefore, there are only 2 solutions to the problem if the device is broken:

1. Immediately buy a new one. Unfortunately, not every service center will provide warranty repairs for such blenders;
2. Solder the panel. Plastic bonding technology is used to connect the housing; therefore, disassembly can be carried out by using high-temperature technologies. It is necessary to carefully incise the body and insert into the incision several metal plates or needles. They need to be heated and the molten plastic removed. After repair, the plastic can be glued.

In the case is the working part of the blender - the motor, spindle, control unit (a circuit that helps to set up the modes, etc.). After disassembling, you can replace the necessary part with a working part or clean the contacts of the device.

A little more complicated is the case with the dismantling of a stationary blender. It consists of a bowl of a special shape (often cylindrical or trapezoidal), a knife, an electric motor, a shaft and a spindle. When you turn on the device in the network, the shaft with the spindle transmit torque to the knife, which moves and cuts the products in the bowl. So that the ground food does not fall out through the expanded top, the bowl is closed with a lid. The knife can be rotated a certain number of times (for some models of Mulinex, Polaris and Redmond firms, a timer is built into the system) or until the contacts open.

To disassemble such a blender at home, you will need a screwdriver or wrench, depending on the type of mount. The housing cover is held on screws or nuts mainly with left-hand thread. They are removed, the housing is removed. Under it is the motor, shaft and spindle. First of all, you need to inspect the shaft, it should not be chipping or obvious irregularities. Further, if necessary, you can change the knife:

1. If the knife is dull, then you won’t be able to sharpen it - but you can buy it in a company store. Depending on the brand, it costs from $ 2 to 10. To remove the old cutter, you need to unscrew it from the spindle;
2. Sometimes the knife is mounted not on the thread, but on the nuts. Then they are twisted, and the blade itself is carefully removed from the socket;
3. An oil seal is located at the junction of the knife and the drive - this is a gasket that improves the adhesion of parts and increases torque. It must be replaced every six months (if the model is collapsible);
4. In some blenders Tefal (Tefal), Bork, Scarlet SL-1548 and Cameron, the knife and container are solid, so if any part breaks, both parts will need to be replaced.

If the knife spins too slowly, then the speed switch may not work. The control board is responsible for its work. To inspect it, you need to disassemble the device according to the instructions above and test all the contacts. They must be locked. In this case, be sure to check the power button and lock.

It should be noted that the operation of the drive is impossible without a tight fit of the bowl to the junction. This safety precaution protects you from accidental injuries. If the board and the lock button are normal, then you need to test the bowl contacts - they can go away. Sometimes when performing kitchen work, food debris falls on the active parts of the device - view them and, if necessary, wipe with special substances to clean and degrease.

When the gearbox malfunctions, the blender most often simply does not turn on, such repairs are very difficult to carry out on their own. Instructions on how to replace the engine:

1. It is necessary to disassemble the device according to the scheme described above. Be sure to read the manufacturer's recommendations and device specifications. In non-separable models, such repair is not advisable in view of its high cost price;
2. Check the power and lock button - there may be a problem in it. If you hear a buzz when you turn on the blender in the network, you need to squeeze the contacts and test them with a multimeter. In some cases, they simply cannot close when turned on;
3. Separately, engines can be bought in special stores, but such spare parts are sold separately only for expensive models or for food processors (Kenwood HBM, Polaris PHB, Gastrorag, DEX DHB);
4. The new engine is installed in the place of the broken, the system is assembled and tested.

Often, the cause of a blender’s inoperative condition is a broken power cord. To check it, you need to disconnect the device from the network and ring the wire. The cable is soldered to the power head inside the case, you need to check its voltage with a multimeter when connected to the network - if there is a signal, then the cord is working. Otherwise, the cable is replaced. The same can be done with a fuse - it is tested and, if necessary, replaced with a new one.
