Which flooring can fall through quickly

Regardless of what kind of flooring is expected in the apartment, laminate or linoleum, usually high hopes are laid on the substrate. It is believed that it should have good moisture, heat and sound insulation, perfectly level the floor and also keep its shape for a long time. In fact, high-quality expensive products of famous brands are able to cope with such tasks. But often the owners make a number of typical mistakes when choosing a substrate, because of which it quickly bends, loses its shape, and sometimes even breaks.

/

The worst thing you can do is purchase non-crosslinked polyethylene. Yes, it is cheap, with its help you can adjust the thickness of the base, but you need to understand that it, like the stretch film, is considered more packaging than building material for a reason. It should not be used as a substrate, because at constant pressure it will deform, in places it becomes finer, elasticity is lost over time, as is the foam structure, due to which the substrate becomes uneven in thickness. That is why it is necessary to acquire cross-linked reforms, which will be more durable. Also, some owners believe that the thicker the substrate, the better the technical qualities will be expressed. On the example of the same reform, we can say that 2 mm will be more than enough. If you choose a large thickness or lay a two-millimeter material in 2-3 layers, it turns out that too large a height will provoke deflections, and very strong ones in the area of the locks. If it is a laminate, as a result, the upper material will also deform and break.

If we talk about the linoleum substrate, then plywood or fiberboard can provide good protection against deformation. However, during installation, you need to carefully putty the joints, which takes a lot of time.

/

When using polypropylene, you need to remember that the roll version can only play the role of insulation, and foamed slabs are best used for rooms with low traffic. Otherwise, the risk of deformation increases.

/

Sometimes the effect of a failing substrate occurs when using jute fiber. It itself is quite soft, and after laying linoleum the floor becomes even softer, which not everyone likes.

/

Strong deformation is observed when any standard substrate is laid in two layers. At the same time, it may deform in the very near future due to the fact that too heavy furniture is installed on it or if the room is often walked on. Thus, in places of heavy load, individual lamellas bend, locks break with time. Moreover, a chain reaction is started - the load is transferred from the lamella through the lock to neighboring plates, they, in turn, are also deformed, and the locks between them are destroyed.

/

Do not forget that the substrate should first of all well level the surface, and then already have other technical qualities.
