How to make a magnetic stirrer

The prices of magnetic stirrers in the store are impressive: the most budget ones start at 3,000 rubles, and the ceiling is more than 20,000 rubles. Fortunately, a simplified design, not inferior in quality to professional models, can be assembled at home. Elements for a magnetic stirrer are easily accessible, and the price is many times lower.

For the device you will need a cooler from a personal computer, neodymium magnets, a power source and a paper clip.

Such a device is capable of mixing heterogeneous compositions: liquid and solid phases (the simplest example is tea and sugar), and can also be useful in the home workshop for mixing sawdust and powder mixtures.

When everyone is sucking on the table before his eyes, you can start assembling. The first step is to take a cooler from a PC, and two magnets join it. They should be located in its middle part, they are placed in different directions with opposite poles to each other. It is best to fix magnets to glue, but if it was not at home, then you can use stationery tape. In the latter case, the connection will be mobile and weak, but its advantage is multifunctionality: you can easily free the cooler and use it for other needs.

Next, you need to check the correct placement of the magnets on the cooler. For this, one more piece is taken, which is first applied to one, and then to another. If the magnet attracted to the first, and pushed off from the second, then everything is done correctly. A piece to both sides must be applied in the same place.

Because of the magnets, the fan from the computer becomes higher, in order to level its area, you can use the native bolts from the cooler. As a platform for glasses and containers for mixing, a piece of durable plastic is suitable. In this case, the cover of the CD is taken. It is attached to the cooler with bolts or glue.

A paper clip with insulation will play the role of a mixer. She needs to be shaped like a hook. The cooler is connected to the battery using two wires: red positive and black negative. The stirrer is ready.

For use, it is necessary to place glasses with mixtures in the center so that the mixer does not create unnecessary vibrations. Dishes placed on the appliance must have a flat bottom.
