How to wash the surface of the material from the foam easily and quickly

Many construction and finishing operations are carried out using construction foam. Its ability to fill and seal various openings is ensured by incredible adhesion to any type of surface. In addition to its positive qualities, this property also presents certain inconveniences when excess foam gets on skin, clothing and other surfaces. You can remove the mounting foam, however, the method used for this will depend on the type of contaminated surface.

The easiest way to remove non-dried foam. Work should be done with rubber gloves to prevent it from sticking to your hands. The bulk of the foam is carefully removed with a spatula or a handy flat-shaped object, being careful not to damage the contaminated surface. The remaining foam is removed using acetone or rinse aid for a mounting gun applied to a soft cloth. In order not to damage the surface, the effect of the solvent is first checked in its small area, located in an inconspicuous place.

Dry foam is much more difficult to remove. First, its main mass is cut with a sharp knife, and then, depending on the type of surface, the residues are removed with a solvent or mechanically. As solvents, all the same acetone and flushing fluid for mounting guns are used. The mechanical method involves cleaning surfaces with a knife or sandpaper. In some cases, you can wait until the remaining foam collapses under the influence of sunlight, and then wipe this place with a dry, rough cloth.

If a mounting gun was used to apply the foam, it must be immediately rinsed after completion of work with a special liquid, which we have already mentioned. It can be purchased at any hardware store. Having removed the cylinder with mounting foam from the gun, a container with flushing fluid must be installed in its place. Then, having unscrewed the gun feed screw to the maximum level, you should pull the trigger and flush the gun until the tank with flushing is completely empty. This should be done with rubber gloves and safety glasses, in the direction of the metal trash can.

To remove the foam from the surface of the skin of a person, you need to immediately after it gets. You can do this yourself or by asking someone from your loved ones or colleagues. The bulk of the foam is carefully removed, being careful not to smudge on the skin. Then, the contaminated area is wiped with a cloth dampened in acetone, gasoline or washing liquid for mounting guns. After cleaning, the skin is washed thoroughly with warm water and soap. You can remove the foam from the skin with a greasy hand cream or vegetable oil. To do this, they are applied to the hands and, after waiting 20-30 minutes, are removed along with the remaining foam.
