To date, the building materials market is filled with various artificial stone finishes. This type of material is very popular because of its cost and good quality. Compared with natural stone, analogues are practically not inferior to it in physicochemical characteristics, however, they cost much less. Let's consider what artificial stones are good for and analyze their positive and negative sides.
One of the most common types of artificial stone is the so-called cast stones. They are made on the basis of marble, granite and other types of chips. Thanks to binding polymers and a certain manufacturing technology, the analogue of natural stone is even better than the original.
The main positive aspects:
- Very beautiful appearance (very similar to the natural pattern);
- Very strong material;
- A bit cheaper than natural stone.
The main negative aspects:
- Labor-intensive production (requires a crumb of natural stone);
- There are analogues much cheaper.
Another type of artificial stone is the cheapest analogue of natural. Its production requires only cement and some other bonding elements. This significantly reduces the cost of production, but the only thing worth noting is the external distinguishing features. Such an artificial analogue is not quite similar to natural stone, the quality of the picture is slightly different.
The main positive aspects:
- Simple production (only cement, sand, plasticizers, water and coloring pigments, as well as special forms are required);
- Low price in comparison with natural stone and other artificial analogues;
- Good quality specifications.
The main negative aspects:
- They differ greatly in appearance from natural stone (from the drawing you can immediately determine that the material is artificial);
- The quality is better than natural stone, but much inferior to artificial casting counterparts.
Such artificial analogues of natural stone are excellent for exterior decoration of buildings and the surrounding area. Thanks to this material, you can create a very beautiful and unique landscape design of your house. And most importantly, it will cost much less than purchasing natural stone.
