The first century of the third millennium is literally filled with a dynamic life. Everyone is trying to get as much as possible in as little time as possible. And therefore, right now the house, and its interior, is of great psychological importance. I would like to make everything cool, functional and interesting in a new apartment. Long gone are the days when furniture and building materials did not differ much. Today, the avant-garde style is gaining even more popularity than in the century of its appearance, the XX century. This style helps to express the individuality of the owner, as he does not tolerate everyday decisions, for example, pastel palettes and banal forms of furniture.
Fundamental rules
First, an experiment must take place. A striking example is the use of objects and prints with different geometries. Also, the correct illumination makes the room original.
A synonym for avant-garde is non-standard, therefore, the initiative in choosing the surfaces of the premises is welcomed and encouraged, but you should not go too far.
Secondly, the modern look largely depends on the availability of new materials. However, this does not mean that preference should be given to plastic. In some versions of the room there are enough plasma panels.
Thirdly, the contrast of colors is the basis of the avant-garde, you can choose the colors located at the opposite ends of the circular palette for design. Suppose an eggplant sofa against the background of light yellow wallpaper will look quite expressive, and if you add a bright blue pouf, then instead of avant-garde you get bad taste. If there is a desire to add a third color in contrast, it should be selected carefully. Some craftsmen make one highly saturated color as the basis of the composition, and two more colors located not adjacent to them act as accents, which requires less saturation from them.
Fourth, art should be used. You do not need to hang pictures on each wall, but you can put an extravagant floor lamp or put an abstract patterned carpet on the floor.
Fifth, the interior should be concise, helpful and smiley. Although a non-standard approach to design involves unusualness, this does not mean choosing things that are completely different from each other, and then their random arrangement. It will look too flashy.
Materials used at the forefront
Laminate and parquet boards are often used as floor coverings. They come in different sizes and colors, besides they can be laid in different ways. Tiles, as a favorite option for the kitchen and bathroom, also offer a wide range of solutions.
For walls, wall murals that usually stick to one wall, making it the main one in the room, are suitable, but options are possible. For example, photowall-paper can limit a recreation area where it is pleasant to read a book with a cup of coffee looking at your favorite view. Textured solutions are also very popular: glass wallpaper or fabrics that exist to create various three-dimensional effects. For patterns and even landscapes on the walls, decorative plaster is suitable. If you intend to use ordinary wallpaper, then you can show imagination in gluing them. For example, combine different rolls from the same collection.
The ceiling, on the contrary, is better to make easier and lighter, as the room visually becomes larger, and the style of the avant-garde involves spaciousness and lack of piling. But for variations with lighting, it is easier to make a plasterboard rather than a plastered ceiling. If the ceilings in the room are so high, then you can draw a picture of the constellation or the smiling sun in the nursery. It all depends on the imagination.
Decor elements should be original, but at the same time carry a certain idea and have some gradation in accents. For example, the largest statuette at one end of the room can be contrasted with a smaller one, but brighter and vice versa. And on the right round table you can put a fancy vase, similar in size to the figurine.
In general, the avant-garde style is quite free and allows you to combine different things and materials, adjusting the cost of both repair and furniture. Designers advise to elaborate on the concept of each room in order to find the best solutions for every taste and budget.
