Soft minimalism began to take shape as a separate area at the end of the 2000s. Designers drew inspiration from two opposite styles at once - Art Deco and minimalism. The result is a style in which beauty can be seen in different materials, but at the same time, its functionality and ideal forms remain relevant.

Soft minimalism is more diverse than minimalism. It can use expensive textures and warm colors, presentability is becoming a certain norm. From art deco style differs more strict and restrained appearance. In this case, no ethnic components are used, white and beige colors displace brown and black, the richness of natural materials comes to the fore in the decor.

The ratio of volumes and shapes in soft minimalism resembles modernism. The approach is not decorative, but architectural.

Ideal compositions create an element of beauty, functionality becomes decisive when choosing furniture and decoration. There should not be any ornate lines and curved spaces. Ergonomics defines all the distances and the position of furniture. The starting point in zoning is people, not some art objects.

Warm shades and white color in soft minimalism occupy the main position. Colors should not be intrusive. You can also use the usual for minimalism combination of white and black with the addition of gray gradations. Even in accents do not use a riot of colors. The range of shades is determined by the primary colors. The range turns out to be very cozy and comfortable, excellent both from hot Art Deco and from cold minimalism.

In software minimalism, rare and unusual materials are important. The interior gets individuality due to the presence of natural interesting structures that look advantageously against a general neutral background. They are the main decoration of the style.
