Often in a home garden some trees are redundant. Cutting off the trunk is only half the battle, it is also necessary to remove the stump. The last task is very difficult, some owners prefer to turn to the services of specialists. Is it possible to remove the stump yourself without difficulty?
Ways to get rid of a stump
There are several ways to get rid of stump.
First way
The most inexpensive and affordable way to remove a stump is to uproot it with a shovel. Of course, from a physical point of view, the method is not very simple, but with several employees, the situation becomes much simpler. To do this, you need a strong rope, a shovel, an ax. If the farm has a winch, then the process of drawing from the soil will be simplified several times.
The stump must be dug in a circle, exposing the roots, which are immediately removed with an ax. Most conveniently, if the tree trunk is about 2 meters, then it can serve as a quality lever, facilitating the uprooting process.
Second way
If the stump sits in soft soil, then it is easiest to remove by washing out the roots and further uprooting. To begin with, the object is also dug out in a circle, then a meter from the first circle is dug out the second.
Next, you need to organize a strong pressure of water, with which the roots are well washed out. All dirt mixed with water flows into a prepared ditch. Thus, the earth is eroded until all the rhizome is in sight. The stump is removed the very next day, sawing off with a hacksaw.
Third way
It is also possible to get rid of a stump without uprooting. For this, many gardeners use the method of crowding out the roots with other roots. The stump is cut down under the base. With the help of a drill, holes are made in it for planting other trees or plants with a sufficiently powerful root system.
Over time, the roots of young plants will destroy the stump until it is finally replaced. The remains of the rhizome will turn into humus, providing a breeding ground for seedlings.
Fourth way
There is another way in which the stump enters a nutritional basis for another organism. In this case, we are talking about mushrooms. In the old stump, several cracks can be made in which the mycelium of the mushrooms is poured: honey mushrooms or oyster mushrooms, everything is wrapped in a dense film. The very next year, the stump will begin to bear fruit, the mycelium will be alive for about five years. After this period, the tree turns into dust and decays itself.
