Gas hob - an improved and modern modification of the well-known stove for cooking. This option, in comparison with the electric stove, is considered the most economical in the presence of the main pipeline.

Panel Types:

  • Dependent, with oven. In this case, the hob is placed strictly by the oven.
  • Independent standalone device.

A kit always costs less than two units. But with the help of a separate surface you can independently place cooking zones, adapt them to your needs or change the design of the kitchen.

What to look for

  1. The best option would be when the built-in gas panel belongs to the same brand as the oven. In this regard, be sure to consult a specialist, since even with one company not all sets are consistent with each other. Manufacturers always have a list of compatible models.
  2. Buying a combined surface (gas-electricity) is beneficial if you have gas interruptions. You can cook on the electric side, for example, while there is a preferential tariff, and then switch to gas. And vice versa - in Moscow outside the city often breaks the wires and then you can not do without a gas furnace.

  3. Enameled gas panels are the most versatile. Their color scheme is diverse and they are suitable for any interior. White looks good with a wooden tabletop and bright furniture. In high-tech style, black stainless steel or light glass will be appropriate.

dimensions

The thickness of the modern hob is 4-5 cm, less often reaches 10 cm. But in any case, the installation should be placed in a special hole on the countertop. The insert is easy to carry out independently, based on the passport data of the furnace.

In the form of gas panels built in for the kitchen are of three types:

  1. Traditional rectangular. The standard width of the hob is 50-60 cm. The largest, 5-6 burners, reach a meter.
  2. Corner (a plate installed in the corner of the countertop), an excellent solution for a small kitchen.
  3. Dominoes - narrow cooking surfaces (two-burner), part of the system. You can connect another such panel, deep fryer or grill to them using special jumpers. They are half that of standard ones and their width is 25-30 cm.

4 hotplates

Location of control knobs

Controls can be located on several sides:

  1. Side, on the side of the burners (on the right are much more common).
  2. Frontal, directly in front of the user. The most common type of control. Sometimes the front ones are shifted slightly to the side.

Pay attention that the handles are not too close to the heating zone, as this will negatively affect their appearance.

Panel Controls

Panel Material

There are 4 main modifications of gas hobs on the modern market. The price of the product depends on the material.

  1. Steel enamel, the most inexpensive option. Most often these are not the most functional models of the latest generation. But on the other hand, you will always be able to find a copy that is suitable in color and pick it up for a kitchen set.

Enamel also has disadvantages. Dirt and spots are visible on it. The coating is chipped and erased from constant cleaning, and inaccurate handling will certainly leave scratches. But almost every manufacturer in the assortment has enameled surfaces.

  1. The stainless steel panel will appeal primarily to those who like easy care and modern technology. Surfaces can be matte or polished. On matte spots and fingerprints will be visible less.

The stainless steel is not afraid of blows and high temperatures. But for cleaning you need special tools.

  1. Glass ceramics are the most modern material, but quite expensive. They are very beautiful, easy to care for and fit into the kitchen of any style. The surfaces are heat resistant and are very hard to damage.

Drops of fat on it are almost invisible. Some glass-ceramic panels come with oval burners and an expanded heating area.

  1. Glass ceramics competitor - tempered glass panel, "gas on glass". Visually, they are almost indistinguishable, but the cost of glass is lower. Protective and tempered glass are combined into a strong and high-tech surface, heat-resistant and shockproof. When buying, pay attention that there are rubber tips on the grill that do not scratch the surface.

Grilles

There are two types of grilles:

  1. Enamelled steel. Steel is not afraid of falls, as it is plastic. These are lightweight and easy-to-clean grilles. They are cheaper than cast-iron, but eventually burn out, crack and acquire an unaesthetic appearance.
  2. Cast iron, almost eternal. They support the weight of any pan. In such a grid, the black color will remain unchanged for a very long time. There are no welds. But they cannot be dropped. A porous material is cleaned worse than enameled steel.

Burners

For an average family, a standard 4-COMFORCE oven is enough for cooking. A larger number of burners is intended for professional catering establishments.

Quite a lot depends on the quality of the burners and nozzles.

Burners are divided into such varieties:

  1. Turbo, ultra-fast, double or triple crown. This is the know-how of panel gas stoves of the latest generation, several times accelerating cooking. This is especially true for pots of large volume.
  2. Standard.
  3. The smallest to make coffee or sauces.
  4. Highly specialized, for example, a grill burner (allows you to cook foods without fat) or WOK (with a powerful rounded bottom).

There are options for expandable burners when a small circle (thanks to additional rings) turns into an oval. Such a burner is useful for a cooper or large pan.

Switch types

Autonomous built-in gas panels are controlled either by rotary levers mechanically (as standard), or by touch buttons (latest generation models).

The main ones are:

  • a switch that blocks the gas supply to all burners with one touch;
  • rotary switches for electric ignition and flame height control.

Additional functions

Almost all modern gas embedded cooktops have these common features:

  1. Electric ignition (piezo ignition). It requires connection to the electric network, but matches will not be needed.
  • Auto. A spark automatically appears when the switch is turned.
  • Mechanical. Along with the hotplate, a separate button must be pressed.
  1. The gas control function. It is very important for safety that the gas supply stops if the flame goes out for some reason. The control sensor works from 1 to 5 seconds, so you should pay attention to this indicator when buying.

Which company to buy?

BEKO

This is a budget Turkish brand, the price of the cooking surfaces of which starts at 5 thousand. rubles. But the company is trying to keep up to date. They have a large selection of panels of all kinds of colors (including anthracite and beige).

BEKO produces 3 varieties of surfaces:

  • tempered glass (HISW 64222 SW);
  • stainless steel (HDCG32220FX);
  • traditional enameled (HIMG 64223 W), which are the most.

Interesting models with a small grill (HISG 64120). They are very convenient in that you have to clean a small enameled surface, and not the entire area of the gratings. Also available with integral cast iron grilles (HILW64225S).

But the number of burners is diverse. You can choose models from 2 to 5 burners (except 3).

There is also a combined surface, a symbiosis of electrics and gas (Beko HILM 64120 S).

BEKO gas surface

Bosch

The oldest company on our list, in the assortment of which there are all 4 types of surfaces. Gather in Spain and Turkey. They have practically no classic white enameled surfaces, but a lot of black ones.

It has made cooking speed a priority due to its powerful burners. Almost every model has a “double crown”. The number of burners is from 1 to 5 (no from 3).

Bosch is also known for its cooking grids, which you cannot confuse with any other. Additional supporting elements fulfill their main function and look rather unusual (Bosch PCH6A5B90).

There are modern models with small grills just above the cooking zone (POH6C6B11O).

Bosch gas panel

GEFEST

Belarusian brand, in which the design of the hob differs from all the others:

  • The area of the handles is highlighted (SG CH 1210 K5);
  • Lattices are only cast-iron. In addition to the classic rectangular options, there are original oblique (SG SN 1211 K6).

In the presence of 3 types of panels (without glass ceramics). The number of heating zones is from 2 to 5, and in almost every furnace there is a burner of increased power.

3-COMFORCED surfaces (SG CH 2120) look very original. This model does not imply the largest burner, but it certainly will not go unnoticed and will become the main emphasis in the kitchen.

The manufacturer offers burners, decorated not only with a classic square, but also in the form of a rhombus (SN 2340 K12).

Gas hob GEFEST

Gorenje

Almost all products (95%) of this Slovenian company are exported, and they started with the production of solid fuel stoves. These are classic 4 burner surfaces.

Basic coatings:

  • stainless steel,
  • glass ceramic
  • enameled steel. Black enamel looks much more spectacular than white and sometimes it can not be distinguished from a matte stainless surface.

Almost all models have an energy class A - the lowest. Although electric ignition of burners is present in almost every model, there is no such function in the ovens.

There are combined gas surfaces, but with an electric oven inside (K67 CLI and K57 CLB models).

Lack of stoves Combustion - there is no blocking of the surface from children in almost all models (only EC 613 E02WKT has it). And very few stoves with automatic protective shutdown.

Gas control in the presence of 2 \ 3 of the presented models.

Hob Gorenje

Siemens

German quality and great design are the main advantages of this brand. The assortment includes both classic budget models (EB6B5PB80) made of stainless steel and expensive glass-ceramic (ER 3A6 BD 70). But Siemens enamelled surfaces can not be found.

There are models of tempered glass (EP 718QB21E) with a contrast zone of burners. Such plates look very original and are the highlight of this brand.

Many models with a double crown (ER 926 SB 70 E). The arrangement of rings is square and diamond-shaped.

At Siemens you will find any number of burners: from 1 to 6 (model EC 945TB91E). Moreover, the size of the latter is the same as that of the standard 5-burner model (92 cm by 52 cm).
