The apartment on the top floor in a typical five-story building went to us in a very poor condition. By itself, it is cramped, at first I didn’t even want to talk about the kitchen. It is difficult to imagine what can be done on an area of ​​less than 6 square meters. The first thought that came to us was to try to create a unified kitchen-living room.

But the redevelopment had to be abandoned for two reasons. First, the repair budget was very limited. Then, upon closer inspection, it turned out that the walls were all load-bearing, and it was not possible to remove one of them. There was no longer any talk of combining the kitchen with the living room.

But we still wanted to get a cozy and functional space. I believe that we coped with this task, and our kitchenette of 5.7 squares has become just such a place where it is nice to spend time cooking and relaxing. Moreover, expenses amounted to only 180.0 thousand rubles.

I had to work with what I got. The advantages can be attributed to the fact that the room has the shape of a square. But still, due to the very limited area, it is impossible to create a full-fledged dining area in it. Therefore, our kitchen is used exclusively for cooking. You can only occasionally sit by the window in silence over a cup of coffee.

Since the main goal is to create a convenient space for cooking, we decided to provide for the maximum amount of workplace and storage space. I had to do the project myself. For this, I used a special program and a modular constructor. And at this time, the workers were preparing the premises for rough work.

The location of the apartment on the top floor gave us an advantage, we managed to remove the inconveniently passing gas pipe and counter in the lower cabinet. There was no place for a full-fledged table, but they refused the hinged option immediately, I did not want to mess with it every time. Therefore, we decided to correctly use the windowsill. Instead, they just made a mini-table, such a decision allowed to save a place. Nearby were two tall white chairs.

The main color of the interior is white. This choice helped create a light, bright, airy space. Light monophonic apron with an interesting textured pattern in the form of masonry is perfectly combined with glossy white facades. A laminate with a pattern was laid on the floor, the active coloring does not allow the surfaces to merge. The walls were covered with wallpaper for painting.

Monitoring of kitchen furniture manufacturing companies has shown that prices are about the same everywhere. But the cost of modular assembly in the designer and the actual cost of a full headset differs significantly. Stuffing, closers and other accessories almost double the final price.

As a result, we turned to a private company, Mir Mir, in the furniture center Home Hearth. Here we were offered the most attractive price tag. Moreover, the specialists of this company assembled and delivered the headsets to us in one day, although our friends claimed that this was impossible.

The corner kitchen set with facades from HighGloss panels and countertops made in Germany looks very decent. With the purchase of a gas stove, hood and hob, a family friend helped us. As a result, he managed to save a lot, he brought these gadgets from Poland.

After that, the gas workers connected us with gas, the husband installed a sink and a mixer. Household appliances put in place. On the lower edge of the wall cabinets, the work surface was illuminated. It turned out conveniently and beautifully, I was pleased that there was enough space for cooking.

The sink was chosen in black, it is a bright accent on a white background. I have long studied the practicality of using white in the kitchen. There were doubts about the use of a black sink, it seemed to me that drops and dirt would be visible on such surfaces.

It turned out simple, the glossy surface is easy to clean, just wipe it with a damp cloth. And at the black sink there are no stains and a plaque due to the fact that our water is good, without impurities.

The only flaw that I see in our favorite kitchen is chrome surfaces. No matter how you take care of the stove, stains and stains are still visible on it. Even daily cleaning does not help. In general, the repair is completed. Only minor flaws remained, which we will correct. We hang curtains on the windows, decorate the wall. The place for the microwave remained empty, but our cat had already chosen it.

Our kitchen turned out to be harmonious, compact and, as originally supposed, functional. Two are free to cook here. And the cost of repair made us very happy. A large part of the budget was “eaten up” by the kitchen set, the cost of which amounted to about 75.0 thousand rubles. We did not try to create something special. In my opinion, this room should be used for its intended purpose, and we managed to do everything to make it convenient!
