A kitchen is a room with special requirements for its design and equipment. It should not only please the eye, but also create comfortable working conditions, comply with safety requirements. The kitchen serves as a kind of workshop, as they work in it. At the same time, it is a storage place for products and tools necessary for cooking. And most often - also a dining room. Combining all this in one room, and even often a small one, is not so simple. General requirements and traditional solutions for this room were formulated. Most of them are embodied in the kitchen in the classic version. Let's talk about beautiful, even about chic classic kitchens (photo at the end of the article).
Interior design features of modern beautiful classic kitchen
- Antique style, which takes as a basis the interiors of ancient Greece and Rome. It is characterized by harmony, proportionality, the use of natural paints and materials. His main ideas and findings were subsequently found a new embodiment in the style of "classicism";
- Often called a classic kitchen interior, made in the basic requirements of the historical architectural styles of Europe, such as classicism, empire, implicit baroque or rococo;
- Modern classical style or neoclassic, embodying generalized principles and ideas the above styles, adding to them the national traditions of European nations without literal following them.
Before talking about the interior of the kitchen, we’ll name the main features of this style, common to create any room.
What to consider
From here follows another characteristic feature - the presence of a mandatory compositional center around which other objects are built. If we draw a mental line through it, then we should see as if a reflection of objects located on one side. If we have a chair to the left, then it should be the same to the right of the center. Everything in the composition of the interior should be interconnected and lined up in a single harmonious scheme. There may be several such focal points in a large room. In a small kitchen, a stove imitating a fireplace often becomes such a center.
Another principle of the classic interior is proportionality, the balance of all parts.
The overall impression that a classic interior should create is comfort and luxury. This is achieved by an appropriate choice of materials, colors, furniture and decor.
Wall, floor, and ceiling materials
The walls are usually finished with plaster - this is the best choice for this style. Today they sometimes use wallpaper for painting, but they should also imitate painted walls. For an apron that solves functional problems, use tiles that mimic natural stone. Marble is best. Appropriate if the room size and the selected design allow, wooden decorative panels, which usually harmonize with furniture. Also, sometimes decorative stucco molding is used on the walls.
Floor. For him, a choice between stone or wood. The ideal solution is parquet or marble tiles. A more practical option is to use a laminate or floor tiles that mimic their more expensive classic prototypes.
Color selection
If the furniture is light, then it is possible to use saturated darker colors, but a natural range for contrast in the interior design:
- terracotta, the color of burnt clay;
- dark green, olive;
- shades of brown resembling wood;
Bright catchy accents in the decor are undesirable or should be minimized. But even in this case, no acid colors, only those colors that can be found in nature.
It is these harmonious color schemes that explain the love of the classics. After all, they do not tire and can please for a long time.
Furniture selection
The furniture itself, with its forms and decor, refers to the styles of past eras. If the kitchen is large, spacious, then it can be artsy and majestic, decorated with carvings or inlays.
An obligatory accessory in such a kitchen will be a dining table, around which there are chairs, forming a distinct dining area.
The image of the classic kitchen will effectively complement the corresponding decor: vases, paintings, lamps and figurines. Tableware also becomes an element of the decor, which does not hide behind closed doors, but is placed in plain sight.
But it is advisable to hide the refrigerator and other technological things behind the doors or in niches.
Lighting
The main chandelier is most often voluminous, multi-path, it is one of the compositional centers of the room.
Design features of a chic classic kitchen
Zoning is achieved through lighting, appropriate placement and design of furniture, floor and wall decoration, small architectural forms.
Big kitchen
Another option may be a U-shaped headset, where the center will be a stove decorated with a fireplace with an appropriate design around.
Small kitchen
This placement makes the visually narrow kitchen more spacious.
