The kitchen, whose area is 9 square meters. m, and the long corner corridor in the apartment gave hope only for the L-shaped set, but the owners, after weighing all the pros and cons, decided to arrange a complete redevelopment.

The essence of this redevelopment is to combine the living room and the kitchen, while increasing the amount of space in the kitchen by “borrowing” free space near the corridor. From the remaining part, it was decided to make a room designed for washing and storing clothes.

The kitchen, which turned out in the end, has become a worthy and useful replacement for two small rooms.

Initially, the question of joining the balcony to the kitchen was also considered, but they decided to abandon this idea due to its inconvenience. In the end, the window was enlarged to the floor and a sliding door was set.

Such a room brings great benefits for storing vegetables, fruits and other crops.

Pros and cons of combining living room and kitchen

• The opportunity to be always with your family. The combined living room and kitchen will be good for spending time together, since working in the kitchen, you can be next to a family relaxing in the living room in front of the TV.
• There will be no need to leave guests during a home holiday to cut or bring something to the table.

A range hood will help get rid of odors both in the kitchen and in the living room. But there is one thing: if the living room is also used as a bedroom, then it is not recommended to resort to combination, as people eating in the kitchen or cooking will interfere with the sleeping person to man.

This version of the layout of the apartment requires a constant order in the kitchen.

When selecting materials, the choice was made rather not towards beauty, but towards practicality.

All surfaces should be easy to wash, clean and resistant to detergents, since the kitchen is a place where you almost always need to wipe, wash and clean something.

Materials 

• Parquet board and tiles with integrated heating function cover the floor in the cooking area. The floor heating function is also integrated on the balcony.
• Tiles with a brick pattern are laid out on a part of the wall between the countertop and the hanging cabinets. On the rest of the space in the room, the walls are glued with special washable wallpaper.
• The facade is stained glass.

One of the advantages of glass facades is their unpretentiousness in leaving. Thanks to the convenient location of the handles, which are part of the aluminum profile, the facades are easy to wash and wipe.

The kitchen is made in such tasty and rich colors as chocolate, ice cream and bright orange.

Layout

Parts of the room are a cooking area where a sink and hob are located. And in the space previously belonging to the corridor, it was eventually installed built-in appliances: microwave, oven, refrigerator and cupboards for dishes and the rest.

The advantage of the Liebherr integrated refrigerator is that it does not have a freezer. In its place, a convenient zone of freshness is established. The top of the refrigerator is a very small freezer, which holds several products. For the kitchen, this is quite a practical solution, because this refrigerator is quite roomy, and the freezer can be put separately in any other place. Despite the fact that this is not particularly noticeable in the photographs, the refrigerator is located quite close to the working area.

Storage 

The basic order in the room is set using the symmetry of the location of all structures. In the middle, right under the work area, there are two large and convenient drawers with a width of 1.20 meters. They easily replace a large number of small cabinets, taking up extra space.

Bowls, pots, lids, pans and all other kitchen utensils are stored in the top drawer. Dry foods, for example, cereals, cereals, sugar, etc., lie in the lower one. For cutlery, there is a separate place in the upper cabinet.

All upper cabinets are low enough and include two shelves. This is done for convenience and the ability to reach the desired product or thing, excluding the option in order to stand on a chair. Plus, there was no need to make them too big.

It was decided to place the mugs, tea and coffee intended for them, as well as seasonings for storage in a cupboard located above the hob on the left side. Utensils intended for daily use take their rightful place above the sink, also in the cabinet. Along the wall, over the entire width above the working surface, a special long "hanger", Designed to store all the things necessary for cooking. For example, for tacks, ladles, towels, etc. This solution is very practical.

Equipment 

Built-in microwave and refrigerator, electric kettle and electric hob, oven with the optional pyrolytic cleaning function, a dishwasher is a standard set of appliances in this kitchen.

A little later, a combine was purchased, which is placed in an assembled state in a built-in cabinet and is easily removed. Also, a multicooker and electronic scales were added to the set of standard equipment. This set of equipment is quite enough.

It was decided to make the sink in black, exactly the same as the hob, with which it now blends perfectly. The sink is large and easy to clean, but the main rule in cleaning the headset in black is a complete rejection of powders.

Plus installed hood - it is invisible, as it is built into the cabinet. In addition to its compactness, it also does an excellent job with its work.

The portal is dark brown with a bar counter made of solid oak, lined with natural wood and serves as the border between the kitchen and the living room. Bar counter Is a good thing for bringing together vacationing people and people in the kitchen, allowing them to communicate. The option with a bar allows you to zone the room, making it clear where the living room and where is the kitchen.

The white-milk colored table joins the bar and initially involves four people, but its functionality includes a sliding function, which allows you to increase the number of seats at the table in two times.

The disadvantage of the glass table is that it is very noisy, so it is necessary to use supports and bedding to avoid its “explosiveness”. The advantage is its unpretentiousness in cleaning, as well as the reduced likelihood of minor damage and scratches. Well cleaned and chairs, whose upholstery is ecological leather. Right at the table is a hinged shelf.

Lighting is distributed in zones in the room: in lockers its own backlight, the table and chairs are illuminated with a pendant lamp, and three large light sources are located above the cooking area.

To give the atmosphere of a room beauty during evening sunsets and at the same time hide the balcony from the inside allows the orange-colored curtain with a lift function. Its color is a little calmer than the color of the kitchen.

All souvenirs and jewelry, as well as other objects in the kitchen, are easy to wash and clean. Their small set includes: various commemorative gizmos, watches brought from Prague, which are made of Bohemian glass and perfectly harmonize with the overall interior of the kitchen. Another part of the souvenir pack is a decorative cat purchased at a charity auction.

The obvious advantages of the kitchen are its simplicity, usefulness, ease of use and maximum space occupied by the case. All the details were originally thought out, and as a result, each of them is beneficial. The kitchen is perfect for a large family with children.

The saturated orange color of the kitchen does not look too bright, but it is diluted with light the colors of the walls, the white front of the furniture and the tiles on the part of the wall between the countertop and the upper lockers. The contrast created in this way will be in fashion for a very long time, and the “tasty” and juicy look of the room is given by a combination with dark furniture. Thanks to this, the kitchen takes on a modern look. The mixer and hanger for the necessary tools when working in the kitchen look very good against a background of glossy tiles with bricks. The layout of the working area was very effective. A sufficient amount of space from the sink to the oven, the organization of the lower part of the facades in a small portal. This solution looks like a design approach and focuses on the integrity and evenness of the lower facades. Perhaps, the white hob would fit well into the interior of the working area, because of which the white sink would not attract much attention. Integration and conciseness of the area with a microwave, refrigerator and oven help to achieve high and wide modules. Perfectly resolved the issue with the dining group. Zoning the combined living room and kitchen with the help of the bar is no longer considered a novelty, but in the apartment in question it looks more perfect than ever. The table goes well with the overall interior of the kitchen and well complements the eating area. It would not hurt to improvise over the design of the radiator. A hinged shelf located above the table is a curious idea.
