Important components of successful fishing for the feeder are: successful casting and uniform distribution of bait in the water. And to deliver the bait to the desired point of catching, feeder feeders are used.
To date, there are many different models of these devices. They can be bought in a store or made by hand. The second option will significantly reduce costs, because the feeders are often lost on fishing and they need a few pieces. So let's look at the basic ways to make a homemade feeder and fasten it to the feeder.
How to make self-made feeder feeders
Often feeder feeders with their own hands are made from plastic bottles. They are in every house and they do not need to be bought separately. However, this method has one significant drawback - a very thin material. In addition, folk craftsmen master feeders from metal mesh, hair curlers or take plastic folders-binders. From one such folder you get about 20 feeders, but at a cost they go more expensive.
Let's look at how to make homemade feeders for a feeder from a standard plastic bottle:
- Knife cut off the bottom and neck of the bottle. We have a plastic cylinder. Then cut it along along one side, unfold the finished sheet and lay out on a flat surface.
- The optimal size of the plastic feeder is 6 x 13 cm. Take the marker and mark the staggered marks for the holes.
- Cut out the workpiece, add it overlap to make a cylinder and fix it with a stapler or glue.
- We burn holes with a soldering iron. They can also be made a punch hole or drilled. Some prefer drilling to avoid plastic deformation at high temperatures.
- Apply a lead strip on the outside along the length of the feeder, lead the lead inside. Secure the loop with the fastening assembly with lead. When using such a feeder, it will float without resistance due to the wings formed by the lead plate and plastic.
Excellent feeding troughs for the feeder can be made with the help of female hair curlers. They have a cylindrical shape and ready-made factory holes in the body. If necessary, the size of the feeder can be reduced by cutting pliers.
To make a feeder from the curlers you need to take items made of high-quality plastic without a smell.
There are also heavy structures of feeder feeders, which are used for catching on a strong current. For their manufacture, it is necessary to melt the old lead and pour it into molds. When lead freezes, the mold is opened and lead castings of different configurations are obtained.
How to attach the feeder to the feeder
Important components of the feeder rod system with the feeder are:
- main line;
- swivel;
- carbine;
- feeder.
Some anglers collect the rigging on the main line, tying the knots and limiting the mobility of the feeder with a stopper. Other fishermen make the elements with their own hands, applying a different thickness of the line. And they make several types of rigging.
Mounting the feeder for the feeder takes place depending on the type of equipment. Most often, fishermen use the following:
- paternoster;
- symmetrical loop;
- asymmetrical loop.
Paternoster, Gardner's loop - most often used for catching on silt. It can be done in two ways.
The first way - first, at the end of the line, we tie a small loop with a diameter of 2-3 cm. At a distance of 15 cm, make a second loop about 10 cm in diameter, so that the feeder enters it. Then we pass the fishing line through the rings of the rod.
The second way is to make a loop with a diameter of 15-20 cm at the end of the main line. Then cut it into 2 uneven parts (1/2 + 2/3). To them we bind the swivel. Then to the short line with the carabiner we mount the feeder, and to the long one - the leash.
A symmetrical loop is also a simple sensitive snap that is done on the main line. First we measure 50 cm of fishing line and add it twice. At the end of the line, when folded, knot the knot of the "eight" with a small loop for the leash. Then we take the other end and put a swivel with a carbine on it. We connect this end and the main line, we knit the "eight" knot. Before attaching the feeder to the feeder, we fasten it to the carabiner and fasten the leash to the small loop.
To avoid twisting the rig at the time of casting, it is often done separately, using a stiffer and taut line.
Asymmetric loop - at the end of the main line, pull the swivel and knit a large loop with a diameter of up to half a meter. Attach a feeding bowl to the swivel. Then on this loop knot "eight" we tie a small loop in 15 cm from the feeder. We fix a leash with a hook on it, then mount the swivel carbine to the other end.
Choice of feeder for different types of water bodies
Now let's move to the next question: which feeding troughs are better to choose in order to improve the efficiency of fishing. In fact, here you need to consider several circumstances. One of the important factors is the strength of the current.
For a weak current, kegs of plastic and metal mesh are best suited. They are characterized by excellent aerodynamic properties and convenience when filling with food. Such feeders for the feeder perfectly keep friable bait, as if delivering them to the place of catching. In addition, they are easily mounted on a rod.
But, for all their merits, such feeders are ineffective in rivers. Because the round shape can not withstand strong currents and keep the feeder on a well-fed place.
Feeder feeders for strong currents should be square, rectangular, triangular in shape and be supplemented with a heavy sinker. Such feeders perfectly hold the jet. And at the expense of small cells, the food is washed out slowly, keeping the fish for a long time at the point of catching.
When catching in a strong jet, it is advisable to use feed troughs with grousers.
The sinker of these models below have powerful spikes, thanks to which the feeders "cling" to the bottom and remain in one place.
