Here are the options for metal tables that fit perfectly into any interior:
- forged table;
- bench metal for processing building materials;
- side table;
- decorative side table;
- coffee table;
- bar table;
- console table.
Necessary materials and tools
For the manufacture of this design, it is necessary to prepare all the materials and tools that are useful for work. First, prepare the materials: primer, paint can, brush or roller, metal profile, material for the countertop, timber, glue can and a flat plane for stencils.
ATTENTION! The primer and paint must be designed to work with metal.
Then you need to stock up with the following tool kit: a welding machine, a saw, a hammer, a screwdriver, a grinder with a metal brush, screws and bolts. When everything is ready, you can begin to make a table.
DIY pipe profile table
Furniture products from shaped pipes will be manufactured according to this instruction:
- According to the design drawing, make blanks of parts using an angle grinder or a hand saw.
- File the protruding sections of the cuts and make the necessary holes.
- Bend the structural details of the base of the product using accessories.
- Using a welding machine or an electric drill, weld together the necessary parts.
- Fasten all parts with bolts.
- Install accessories on this product.
- Attach wood and plastic elements to the structure.
- Paint all the elements of this design.
ATTENTION! An interesting solution for decorating the interior will be a table on one leg or a console table made by yourself. Both the first and second options are perfect for a small room.
Consider in detail the manufacture of each product.
Single leg table
This furniture product should be located near the wall, as one part of the surface of the table will be attached to it, and the second rests on a metal pipe.
The dimensions of the worktop are 1.3 m by 0.75 m. It should be located at a height of 0.9 m from the floor. To fix it to the wall, you will need two inserts, between which it will be clamped. To assemble the table legs, fittings, two tubes and three flanges should be prepared.
Console table
This table is very convenient and easy to assemble. To make it you will need:
- 4 end caps, four pipes of 24 inches;
- six T-shaped adapters;
- 4 mounts for attaching legs to the countertop;
- two pipes for the front legs of 8 inches;
- four pipes for the hind legs of 5 inches and pipes so that you can connect them.
First, the surface of the table is made, the legs of this furniture are assembled, and then everything is attached to each other.
DIY forged table
Forged furniture products always look spectacular and beautiful. In most cases, they are used as decor for the yard.
For the manufacture of these products, it is necessary to have special tools for bending metal rods. Forging can be hot or cold, depending on the skills of the master, in the first case, the products will look more aesthetically pleasing.
Stages of manufacturing a metal table with forged legs:
- The metal surface is cleaned of all kinds of contaminants with a steel brush.
- A 1: 1 stencil is made on a leaf tree.
- Two studs are welded, the distance between which is about 30 mm.
- A metal profile is inserted between the fasteners.
- With a hammer, metal is bent in places where it is necessary (using a stencil).
- All metal parts are assembled by stencil and all unnecessary is cut off.
- The product is welded from all sides.
- All parts of the product are brushed.
- Prepared forging elements are welded to the bent metal.
- Everything is cleaned with a brush, the table legs are covered with a white primer.
- Using a special paint, this product is painted in this color.
- Further, the legs are screwed to the countertop using screws, but it is important that the diameter of the hole is larger than the screw itself.
- In order to cover the junction of the legs of the table with its surface, metal corners are screwed on, which are fastened with self-tapping screws.
ATTENTION! For the manufacture of monograms, it is necessary to prepare the metal, but to make its measurements for convenience, use the most ordinary rope, which does not stretch. With its help, each turn of the pattern is measured and its size is applied to the surface of the metal. Forged parts in most cases are painted in colors such as black, bronze, gold or silver.
When choosing a glass countertop, you need to fix it with rubber suction cups or special glue. The metal tabletop is first welded, cleaned, and then primed and painted.
Decorating a metal table
You can decorate a countertop in the following ways:
- a mosaic of a variety of materials (beads, shells, eggshells, rice and much more);
- furniture decoupage (decorating products with paints, fabrics and other materials with further coating of varnish for fixing);
- to cover the surface of the table with patterns or drawings using paints;
- paint the product through a stencil;
- partially glaze the wooden countertop.
