Some empty ink models block printing because the peripheral device sees an empty cartridge.

How to print in black and white on a color printer

It happens that you really need to print a black and white document on a color peripheral device. For example, it is very urgent or you need to save paint. What to do?

Canon Printer

1. If you use Canon, then in the additional functions on the right you need to check the box next to "Grayscale". Next, you need to click “OK” in the settings window and print the desired document.
2. You can use other programs in which you can specifically specify which paints will be used. For example, in the Yandex browser, in the color printing section, you can select the type of “black and white printing”. And in Adobe Reader, you can only check the print in grayscale.
3. In the properties, through the panel control window, you can open the option “black-and-white printing”. Everything is brilliantly simple!

HP printer

To save color ink or print photos in gray, you should change your PC settings for HP. Only a black ink cartridge is used for black and white printing. All colors of a genuine photograph (multi-colored) come out black and white. To get such an image at the output, you need to perform the print action “black ink only” or scan in shades of gray.

There is an option to make the transition through the operating system:

• select the "print" section in the application;
• find a device;
• open its properties (it may also be called "printer", "parameters");
• click on the paper / quality or function tab;
• go to "advanced", printing in shades of gray, only black ink;

ATTENTION. If you want to reduce ink consumption to a minimum, then you need to reduce the quality of ink.

• if you need high-quality printing, you can do it by turning on the function “high-quality printing in shades of gray”.

Epson Printer

In order for the usual black-and-white document to be printed by default, you need to do several actions on the computer itself:

1. Go to Start.
2. Then to the control panel.
3. In the upper right corner, you need to click "devices and printers" - "view ..." (in the equipment and sound section).
4. Look for your printer and its model from the possible options.
5. Clicking the right part of the mouse, a window will appear. We are interested in the item “print settings”.
6. After opening the menu you need to select the “color”.
7. Check the box next to "black and white" or "gray."
8. Then you need to apply the changes and click “OK”.

Now you can safely print!

IMPORTANT. Not all Epson models support black and white printing. If the inscription of such a print did not appear in the color window, then your printer does not have such a function.
