Stripes on the laptop screen: damage to the video card, drivers and other elements

When working on a laptop, the user often has to deal with various damage to the display. It can be horizontal or vertical strips of rainbow color, which stretch across the entire monitor, ripples (in a certain area, the image is distorted as if dripped with water), lowering the clarity of the picture or turning off the fragment screen. These signals indicate a malfunction inside the computer.

Causes of malfunctions

There may be several reasons why stripes appeared on the laptop screen. Each of them provides its own solution.

Video card Problems in the operation of the video card can choose a variety of interference on the screen, because due to this element the user sees everything that the computer is going to show him in his interface. If the picture suddenly becomes fuzzy, blurry, too dark, or vice versa light, with insufficient contrast, or some colors began to be replaced by others - it is precisely in architectural element.

Just in case, the video card should be checked. Most often, a white or gray streak appears. To do this, you need to try putting another video card in the laptop, which, it is well known, works on other devices. If the strips have disappeared, then it is so, the replaced part is damaged.

The video card becomes unusable primarily due to overheating - it deteriorates completely or simply solders off (the second case occurs only when the temperature of the processor and the entire motherboard rises to unimaginable heights, and the cooler is not able to cool system).

Plume. A laptop cable is a group of wires connected by one rubber plate, which provides a connection between the screen (cover) and its lower part, where the architecture is located. Due to the constant dynamics of the two halves of the mini-computer, the wires are frayed, which is why the signal becomes fuzzy, the image may fade, streak, darken, or not appear right away. Often a situation may arise when you can see something on the monitor only with a certain position of the cover, when the contacts are pinched together and the information passes.

At the factory assembly, the cable is positioned as much as possible so that it can be damaged as little as possible when working with the device. But if the laptop was disassembled at least once, and, accordingly, assembled back, then there is a high probability that due to wire assemblies are located incorrectly, bent and the signal ceased to pass correctly, which led to stripes.

Matrix. The matrix is ​​what is under the protective glass of the laptop monitor. Partial damage to it often causes streaks to appear on the screen. To check if the matrix is ​​working, it’s simple - connect an additional monitor and look at the picture that is displayed on it. If there are no failures, then the trouble is really with the matrix.

In addition to the above, the cause of incorrect display of the image on the screen may be a malfunction on the motherboard or incorrect image settings. In the second case, to solve the problem, you just need to adjust the picture settings, and the conflict will go away by itself. The motherboard may melt due to the same overheating. This happens rarely, but if all the other reasons are not found, it means that the motherboard is to blame for the stripes.

How to remove stripes

Solving problems with the screen, preventing the occurrence of stripes on the laptop monitor for each of the reasons:

• Problem graphics card. The solution here is simple - to purchase a new element of architecture and carefully install it. Even if the card simply decayed, due to the high temperature, irreversible changes, or she just worn out during the work, so you should not mess with her, but better immediately update.
• The loop is bent. In the case of interruptions on the way from the processor to the display, there is for the scenario:
  • o Disassemble the laptop and fix the cable so that it does not bend. It will help if the device was disassembled earlier and incorrectly placed inside the wire and later, due to work on the computer, there were no irreversible damage to the contacts, only the insulation crumpled.
  • o Purchase a new one. This case is suitable if one or several wires were broken or torn so that the signal does not pass at all, or goes, but intermittently. If there is visible damage, you need to replace the combiner with the same - the same manufacturer and model.
• Matrix destruction. It is impossible to fix this part yourself, just change it. On sale you can find a wide selection of laptop screens. In order to purchase a suitable one, you should search by the name of the model of your device and the number of pixels (1080x1024, for example).
• Motherboard. Given the fact that this element is often integrated, in the case of the destruction of the “mother” you will have to look for a new laptop, or put up with stripes on the display until it is possible.
