Ovens with integrated cleaning are on sale today - pyrolytic, catalytic or hydrolysis. Each of the types of cleaning involves its own principle of operation, has positive and negative sides. After analyzing them, everyone will be able to decide for themselves which oven cleaning is better.

Hydrolysis method

It was also used to clean the first gas ovens. This is the easiest, but quite effective way to clean the inside of the oven from contamination. Some oven models have integrated hydrolysis systems:

  • Aqua clean. It works at a temperature of 50 ° C. It is proposed to fill in a special container with 0.5 l of water or a mild detergent, after which you can close the door and wait for a click to indicate the end of cleaning. As a rule, it will take about 30 minutes.
  • Cleaning. For it, you need to preheat the oven to 90 ° C. Instead of water, a spray is used to protect the oven. With this tool, it is necessary to process the inner walls of the oven after the door opens by clicking. Cleaning takes 15 minutes.

Cleaning is carried out within half an hour. Previously, water is poured into a specially provided round recess at the bottom of the oven, in some cases a gel is also added to create steam. When the oven is heated, the water evaporates, and affects the fat deposits on the inner walls. So, they soften and enter the pallet.

Oven cleaning

After the cleaning process is completed, it is required to remove all food debris with a napkin.

Hydrolysis cleaning does not apply to automatic methods, since manual use is not excluded when using it. however, she still makes the job easier for the hostess, as she helps to quickly and easily eliminate fresh fatty spots. If it is already very dry, you can not do without treating them with a cleaning agent and intense friction with a sponge.

Pros of hydrolysis:

  • Low cost of the cleaning process - there is no need to spend money on expensive detergents and use a lot of electricity, since the process works at low temperatures.
  • Facilitation of the work of the hostess.
  • Safety - during cleaning the doors do not overheat.

Minuseshydrolysis:

  • After the cleaning process, some impurities remain that must be removed manually.
  • Does not eliminate stained spots.
  • Cleaning is carried out only when the oven has completely cooled down. Immediately after cooking, you can not turn it on.

Catalytic method

The side walls of oven models with such cleaning are coated with special enamel, rough to the touch. The provided pores contain a special composition that, when fats get into them, decomposes them into water, carbon and organic residues.

Cleaning is carried out during cooking, which excludes the inclusion of the oven specifically for this process.

The bottom and oven doors are not protected and will have to be cleaned manually. This is because the protective coating is very susceptible to sugar and dairy products that destroy enamel. And when baking sweets, their filling very often flows to the bottom of the oven.

Decomposition of contaminants occurs at relatively low temperatures:

  • if the inside of the oven is not very dirty, it will be enough to heat it to 140 ° C;
  • with strong fat deposits on the walls of the oven, exposure to higher temperatures may be necessary, but they do not exceed 250 ° C.

After performing the catalytic cleaning, it will only be necessary to wipe the remaining dirt with a wet cloth.

Oven cleaning

The internal surfaces of ovens of different companies do not differ in cleaning quality, but in some of them there may be a grease filter. It is intended for reusable use - sometimes its term can last the entire period of operation of the oven. Once per 100 cleaning applications, it should be washed under running water or in a dishwasher, but if it is necessary to remove all dishes and food leftovers from it, otherwise they will clog into the filter and it will stop work.

The benefits of catalytic cleaning:

  • Lack of large expenses for electricity and detergents.
  • Cleaning takes place during cooking and does not need to be controlled.
  • The catalytic method is used not only on electric, but also on gas ovens.

Cons of the method:

  • Enamel on the inner surfaces of the cabinet after four or five years loses its properties, and the panels with it have to be changed. Knowing this, you need to choose oven models with double-sided panels - when abrasion of enamel on one side, they can be rearranged.
  • The bottom of the oven and door will have to be cleaned by hand, to facilitate cleaning, you should choose a door with the least number of joints and recesses.
  • Severe contamination does not go away in one cleaning, to eliminate them you will need to repeat the process again.

Pyrolytic method

This is the most effective way to clean the oven, but also the most aggressive, and its action captures all the internal surfaces of the oven. With it, all fatty contaminants are burned, which become ash and settle on the bottom of the oven. They can be easily removed with a regular kitchen towel.

Pyrolytic cleaning is carried out at high temperatures reaching 500 ° C. So, for safety reasons, in models with such a system, an automatic lock is provided in the doors, which opens the cabinet door only after the oven cools down to 200 ° C. In some models, this cleaning can occur at a temperature of 300 ° C, as they have a multi-level system. In case of small impurities, in this case a gentle mode is used.

Pyrolytic oven cleaning

Pyrolysis is carried out with a large consumption of electricity, so for the oven with it you need to bring a power cable that can withstand up to 6 kW.

Pros of pyrolysis:

  • There is no need to constantly clear the oven from baking sheets and wire racks before cleaning.
  • Ovens with such a system are made of stainless steel.
  • The most effective method of all of the above, after which there is no pollution.

Cons of the process:

  • The built-in pyrolytic system affects the cost of the oven, increasing its price.
  • Cleaning is carried out after cooking, and since its effectiveness requires heating the oven to very high temperatures, then impressive electricity will come bills.
  • Pyrolysis is accompanied by an unpleasant odor, so it is imperative to provide for the installation of a powerful hood over such an oven.
  • The oven door is very hot. During the operation of the cleaning mode, it is better that no one is in the kitchen, so as not to accidentally burn yourself.

To decide which of the cleaning methods is more attractive, you should pay attention to the final table with the key comparison parameters:

You can visually see the effect of all the described methods for cleaning ovens on the video, which discusses some models of ovens from Electrolux:

Which of the above systems is best suited for a certain housing, it’s impossible to say for sure, since all of them have their pros and cons when operating the oven. Choosing the appropriate option should be based on personal requirements for the installation and maintenance of models with built-in cleaning.
