• The fluid can be replaced with transformer oil, but only new.
• To eliminate breakdowns, a soldering iron is used only as a last resort with copper-phosphorus, silver solder when using a torch.
• Be sure to carefully remove the layer of rust and that part of the sheets, the corrosion of which went deep into the thickness of the material.
• With small sizes of holes, their elimination is possible by screwing bolts into them.

Repair of convector heaters

Do-it-yourself repair of convector-type heaters often involves troubleshooting a thermal control system. A common problem in this case is either the inability to properly control the temperature, or the lack of air heating at all.

Solving a problem can be trivial. For example, if the openings for air circulation are clogged with dust or the outlet circuit breaker has tripped, the room temperature will not change.

More complex is the principle of the thermostat. It must be inspected, if necessary, clean the contacts, check the serviceability of all parts.

• The temperature controller is set to maximum.
• The temperature controller is set to minimum.
• The temperature controller is faulty.

First of all, when analyzing such a heater, you need to clean all the elements. It often happens that it is the accumulation of dust that does not allow the mechanism to fully work. If the situation has not changed after a thorough cleansing, it is worth checking the operation of the thermostat.

When the thermostat is set to maximum, the heater, as a rule, does not turn off when the maximum temperature is reached. The same applies to the minimum, but in the opposite sense: the device turns off before reaching the desired temperature. You need to adjust this indicator manually: by setting the thermostat to the maximum position, wait, when the air temperature is optimal, and gradually switching, bring the control knob to full shutdowns.
