When it comes to smart robotic vacuum cleaners, in general, in most cases, there are many different questions about how they work, the specifics of setting, the nuances of connection and autonomous regime. Of course, the instructions (and a bunch of video reviews on different models) will always give answers, and competent and logical ones. However, the most non-standard question that can be heard is how a robot vacuum cleaner cleans in the corners of a room, because most of the models are rounded. Do you really have to work with a broom after cleaning the gadget?
In fact, cleaning the corners is quite effective, so you can safely forget about the additional efforts.

How a robot vacuum cleaner cleans corners
It turns out that there is no magic here. Any smart gadget will remove dirt, debris and dust in the corners, and if this model is washing, it will also treat the floor covering with a stream of water.
To clean hard-to-reach areas, each device is equipped with special side brushes that effectively cope with this task. In some models, there is only one brush (although it is quite enough for cleaning the corners from dust), and in some there are 2 brushes. They collect debris in a container that is located inside the device. You just have to clean it of dirt from time to time.
However, some models - more advanced versions - may additionally have a suction system, where filters are located to prevent the spread of dust.
Well, do not forget that the performance indicators for different models may differ. For example, if the brushes are short, then, of course, they will not remove the corner well, and therefore when you are only are planning to buy a miracle gadget home, then when choosing it is very important to pay attention to such characteristics:
- End brush length. In fact, this figure can vary between 50-75 mm, but do not forget that part of the length is under the device and is unlikely to have a functional value. Typically, the brush extends beyond the body line by no more than 40 mm. The higher this value, the better the robot will remove corners.
- Number of side brushes. Of course, it is better to choose a model with the maximum number of brooms, but usually such options will cost an order of magnitude more.
- The shape of the side brushes. The classic is a three-beam, more advanced model - 5- and even 6-beams. But here, too, everything is quite simple: the more rays, the better the brush will clean the corner and the more debris it will be able to capture when working.

And finally, I would like to say that robotic vacuum cleaners are not only round. Very often you can find a combined form. For example, one side will be oval and the other rectangular. Such models will, of course, do better at cleaning corners.
