Those who prefer to eat vegetables from their garden or grow them for sale know that a variety of techniques make it much easier to work on the site. One such useful device is the cultivator. For many, its cost seems high, so craftsmen are developing new ways to make a homemade cultivator. Let's see what ideas there is to create a similar technique from a chainsaw.

General points of making a cultivator

The advantages of such a base are low weight and good power. The result is a compact device that manages to effectively cultivate the land.

In addition to the engine, the mandatory elements of the manufactured equipment should include:

• fuel tank;
• intermediate shaft.

All this needs to be fixed on the frame.

All of the listed parts, except for the last one, are with the chainsaw. And the frame will need to be welded by yourself. You can accomplish this task with the help of metal profiles, the cross-section of which is 32 * 32 mm.

The most popular versions of chainsaws are "Ural" and "Druzhba". Let's figure out the nuances of each option.

Homemade product from the "Ural" model

The first step is to disassemble the technique used for the base. As already mentioned, a future cultivator requires a motor, a fuel tank, and a gearbox. Further:

• the frame is welded - the material chosen for it must ensure sufficient strength and resistance of the structure to loads and characteristic vibration;
• in the upper transverse part of the constructed frame - at the corners - the motor is fixed;
• under it is a fuel tank - special brackets are used to secure it, and at the bottom it is protected by a metal plate;
• on the frame racks, located vertically in front, with the help of longitudinal corners, the intermediate shaft supports are fixed;
• the role of the control element will be performed by a 30-centimeter crossbar located across;
• at the bottom, for convenience, you can fix the wheels - they will fit from the old car.

Before starting operation, you need to make the structure heavier by placing some kind of load in its front part. This will prevent accidental displacement due to vibration, which can damage the main components of the homemade device - the engine and the intermediate shaft.

The technique created in this way will not "pull" the overall sheds. It is best used for soil cultivation. By purchasing a hitch from a specialized store, you can work on such a cultivator in tandem with your own harrow or plow.

Using a homemade product, it is worthwhile to periodically give it a “rest” to avoid overheating and breakdown.

When manufactured in this way, there is no need for global work:

• a special slate is installed on the main shaft (suitable for RU-32 type) - this is necessary to fix the shaft to the base;
• it is possible to create a sufficient gap separating the gear bridge from the ground by means of the sprockets used in the "UAZ";
• the housing bearing is fixed on the main axle - its inner circumference should not exceed 3 cm;
• the role of a gearbox equipped with a gearbox can be performed by a motor taken from a moped;
• to fix the cutters and the wheels used for more convenient operation, a steel pipe is suitable - its length should be 32 cm;
• the load in front will make the structure heavier.

For the manufacture of a cultivator, it is recommended to take a model of the 4th generation technique.

The resulting homemade product will have two gears and reach speeds of up to 2.5 km / h. For its operation, it is permissible to use any fuel and oil. The type of operation of the equipment is autonomous - in comparison with the use of electrical options, this is very convenient.
