Stretch ceilings do not cease to be popular, but some people do not go for this choice, fearing to lose the former volume of the room. One centimeter is the minimum installation height. But this is a rare occurrence: more often the canvas falls much lower, by about 3-7 cm. Find out if there are ways to reduce the distance from the rough surface.

How much does the stretch ceiling fall

As stated above, more often the indent is about 7 cm. This is due to the peculiarities of the construction system, the installation of lighting devices and other important characteristics of the stretch ceiling.

Reasons for the decrease in altitude

The main indicator is the unevenness of the original surface and the baguette for installing the canvas. With strong concrete drops you will have to align to the "zero" point. This is followed by the installation of a profile, which is divided into three types:

For minimum loss of distance, choose a plastic profile. It should be understood that it is much inferior in strength to aluminum. Most suitable for space saving - clip-on molding 35 mm high. It is used quite rarely due to the difficulties in installation.

The installation of a standard single-level ceiling will take a shorter distance. In contrast to the two-level, only 3-4 cm will be spent. If possible, it is better to abandon lamps.. If you can't do without them, give preference to point ones in your choice. At the same time, the top will drop by 3–7 cm.

At what height is it permissible to install a stretch ceiling?

If you comply with SanPiN, the installation of a single-level ceiling is carried out at a height of 270 cm, a two-level ceiling - 300 cm, and multi-level - starting from 330 cm.

Why is it not advisable to fasten the tension structure close to the rough ceiling?

The thing is that concrete does not withstand the load of the stretch ceiling (1 sq. m wall per 100 kg). It is highly likely that in the future the profile will move away, and the canvas will sag as a result. In addition, installers will have to drill holes at an angle, which will be difficult.

An electrical cable is placed in the gaps, which is easy to damage during operation. Chances are good that for such a montage ask for an additional fee. This is due to the fact that in addition to the complexity of the work, extra materials will be required.
