How to misuse a French press wisely

It turns out that a French press can be used not only for making aromatic tea or rich coffee. If the product is idle with you and is only covered with dust, then it is quite possible to find other tasks for it.

Making berry juice

If you put berries in a French-press flask, and then slowly press on the plunger, then it is quite possible to extract the juice from your favorite fruits. True, then you have to strain the contents through a sieve, but who will stop it if you are a fan of berry treats ?!

Whisk the milk

If you do not have a cappuccino maker, then a French press will ideally replace it. To do this, pour warm milk into the flask about halfway, and then move the plunger up and down so that it froths. In just 30–40 seconds, you will get exactly the consistency you need for your morning coffee or tea to make it especially tasty.

We store herbs

In general, this method will seem strange and impractical to many. It consists in storing odorous herbs in a French press, such as basil, parsley, cilantro, rosemary or thyme.

All that is needed is to put fresh herbs in a flask and fill it with water (until the stems are covered). True, it will not be possible to preserve the freshness of herbs for a long time, since this is an express method - not for long-term storage.

Making butter tastier

If you like aromatic olive or sunflower oil, then you can make a special sauce that can be cooked in a French press.

Add your favorite spices, herbs to the flask and fill them with oil. From time to time, you need to lower and raise the piston so that the ingredients maximize the taste and smell. After 30-40 minutes, the contents must be drained through a strainer - you will get a more aromatic and rich oil, which can be used for salads and thereby achieve a new flavor combination.

It is clear that if the French press in your family is used daily for its intended purpose, then some ways are able to spoil it a little (you are unlikely to brew tea there after butter, even when you wash it thoroughly). But if you bought it, but it is idle, then you can find another use for it, so that it performs at least some useful functions.
