Contacting Gorgaz is made in writing. It is necessary to submit an application to which, and without fail, are attached:

• copies of documents confirming that the applicant is the owner of the building and the adjacent land plot;
• situational plan allotted. This item is relevant only in the case when the boiler room will be located in a separate building, which does not yet exist.

Also, the applicant will have to prove their identity.

The submitted document should state the request for the provision of technical conditions and indicate the planned gas consumption. If its exact value is not known, and the real estate owner himself does not have the necessary knowledge to perform the calculation, then this service can be negotiated with representatives of the Gorgaz. But for this you will have to submit a separate application.

Gas operators are required to issue technical specifications within the established 10 days. But the reality is that the timing depends on the workload of the specialists of one or another gas company.

Equipment installation steps

Having received the technical conditions in your hands, you can proceed to the implementation of the task of installing the boiler. The whole procedure consists of 4 stages.

These include: creating a project, coordinating a project, installing a boiler, checking equipment. Ignore the listed steps, you cannot swap them.

Stage 1 - plant design

Actually, this stage of installing a gas boiler is intended to determine the exact list of rules and regulations that will have to be followed.

There are many of them, but it all comes down to the fact that the heating systems, of which the boiler will be part, could:

• to provide heating of all premises of the building to standardized temperatures (for residential premises this indicator is 18-24 ° C), and throughout the entire heating period;
• warm up all rooms evenly;
• provide hydraulic and thermal stability. In simple words, this means that the heating system as a whole, like the boiler itself, must be reliable and stable throughout the entire period of operation, regardless of operating modes.

These requirements are not general - they are specific and strict norms set out in SP 60.13330.2016, and they are fundamental.

Therefore, the performance of a gas boiler must necessarily be determined taking into account:

• the area of ​​the premises that the unit will heat;

Initially, you should also pay attention to what must not be done when installing the boiler.

Namely, gas equipment must not be placed on surfaces made of combustible materials. For example, on a wooden base. It is dangerous, and therefore prohibited, to install boilers on balconies, loggias, basements and other places where the ventilation procedure is difficult.

If it is planned to use liquefied carbon dioxide, then placing the boiler on the basement is also prohibited. The premises that are used for recreation are the most unsuitable premises for placing heating equipment. In addition, the doors from the boiler room should not go out into the recreation rooms - this should also be taken into account when designing.

The room in which the boiler is installed must meet a number of requirements, namely:

• the area should not be less than 4 m²;
• the minimum volume of the room is 7.5 m³. Moreover, this standard is relevant only for boilers whose power is no more than 30 kW. If the specified characteristics of the units are higher, then the minimum volume of the boiler room should be 13.5 m³. And with a power of 60 kW - 15 m³;
• the height of the room must be at least 2.2 m with a boiler power of up to 30 kW. If the capacity exceeds the specified value, then the minimum height is 2.5 m;
• the room must be equipped with a door with an opening of 0.8 m.

When equipping a boiler room, special attention should be paid to windows. Which must provide the room with a sufficient level of lighting to perform the necessary operations for controlling the boiler, and also serve for ventilation of the premises. The last point is critical.

Therefore, the main requirement is that boiler rooms must be equipped with windows. In this case, the glazing area should be 0.03 m² for each 1 m³ of the room volume.

Only hinged windows are suitable for installation, which, moreover, must open outward. Such a design feature in critical situations will allow for quick ventilation, for example, in the event of a gas leak. And in a number of situations, they will reduce or neutralize the consequences of an explosion.

The boiler room is supplied with:

• water - to provide the heating system with a coolant;
• sewage system, which is necessary to drain the coolant.

The room where the boiler will later be installed must be equipped ventilation systems and smoke removal.

Moreover, the pipe for the removal of combustion products must be above the level of the roof. In some cases, such a rule can be disregarded, but the expediency of such a decision will have to be proved.

All of the above requirements are also relevant for wooden houses. The only difference is that with a boiler output exceeding 60 kW, the minimum permitted room volume must be 27 m³. In this case, the installation should be carried out on a foundation made of non-combustible materials, which should also protect wooden walls from the effects of high temperatures.

Stage 2 - project approval

If, at the stage of creation, requirements and norms are determined that will make the operation of the heating system efficient and safe, then upon agreement, the control of the correctness of their choice is carried out.

This procedure is carried out by the responsible persons of the gas companies (raigas). Moreover, their task is not to identify shortcomings and reject the project. Therefore, most of the listed rules in the previous paragraph can be adjusted.

For example, if the area of ​​the room is slightly less than the prescribed 4 m² and there is no possibility to increase it, then the installation of the boiler will be allowed. And the optimal solution will be the one that is provided at the stage of project creation. Since this reduces the time for the boiler installation procedure, and also reduces costs. You should also provide an unobstructed air supply to the boiler, which will reduce the likelihood of flame damping.

It is forbidden to lean any objects against the heater. The storage of explosive and fire hazardous objects, substances, liquids is prohibited in the boiler room. For example, firewood, containers of gasoline, paper, and the like. It is also prohibited to store spare LPG cylinders in the boiler room.
