Kitchen fittings are an important piece of furniture. Without it, any headset will turn into a set of lockers that only perform their functions. And then, without high-quality auxiliary materials, the most expensive furniture will not last long and will fail. And vice versa - modern components will turn the kitchen into a stylish piece of furniture and give it individuality.

The magic of pens: types and types

The choice of pens should be approached with great care. When choosing new ones or modernizing old ones, keep in mind the style that your kitchen will match. Today, the choice of components is simply huge: in Ikea stores, in Moscow or on the Internet, but you will definitely find a suitable option that suits you in terms of price and quality.

There are two types of handles: mortise and overhead. The former are fastened from above with the help of screws (decorative or secret), and the latter are placed in a recess on the plane of the door. Overhead handles fit in with any style and are the most common option. But mortise is more suitable for modern kitchens.

There are many varieties:

  1. The staple is the most common type. The C-shaped handle is very easy to use.
  2. Button (round or oval handle) suitable for many styles. All kinds of materials and even glass are used for it.
  3. The ring is a very beautiful handle made of metal, bronze or brass, which harmoniously fits into classic-style kitchens. May damage the facade with prolonged use.
  4. The drop is a gracefully dangling little handle, but not very functional.

One of the most exclusive options is leather or a combination of materials such as porcelain and wood. Look at the accessories for kitchen furniture photos of all kinds of options and see how impressive such handles look. And the most practical should be considered metal.

Door hinges: types and aesthetic component

The choice of loops is large enough. In addition to the common polished surfaces, matte and textured surfaces are popular today. Hinges can be enameled or artificially aged, chrome-plated, copper, bronze and gold.

When choosing hinges, pay attention to their functionality and reliability, in particular, to the way the facade is applied to the end face and the door opening plane.

There are several types of door hinges:

  • End double-leaf - two plates connected by pins. They are mortise and not. Often used in classic and budget kitchens.
  • Concealed loops (also called European). Such doors look perfect both outside and inside. They are reliable and long lasting.
  • Overhead when the facade is on the side end wall.
  • Half-overlay, used when two facades are superimposed on one end.
  • Transformers that allow you to open the door up to 170 degrees.
  • Gas lift - smoothly raising and lowering doors at the slightest touch. Often used in overhead cabinets that open horizontally.
  • Self-closing is the most convenient option. These hinges close the door gently and slowly.
  • Inset and corner. As the name suggests, these hinges are used for corner cabinets and inset fronts.

Dampers

The damper is a small but necessary item. This is a kind of furniture shock absorber that limits the door open upwards. The door is fixed in one position, and there is no need for a person to hold it.

The damper runs smoothly and quietly. It is often completed with a door closer and does not allow the door to open too quickly. They are classified by power, which is measured in Newtons. Front width up to 50 cm assumes one damper (at 60H).

There are overhead dampers (the easiest to install, with stops) and mortise (requiring holes). If we proceed from the mechanism of the structure, that is, hydraulic (cylinder with pistons) and pneumatic (used with lifters).

Guides

Drawer guides or pull-out fittings are one of the main elements of ease of use. They are found in any furniture with pull-out structures, but most often in drawers. There are several types, depending on the guides:

  • Roller. The most trouble-free in work, easy to install and operate. You can always buy them inexpensively.
  • Ball-point. Quiet and fully extendable. They can be mounted flat and on either side of the retractable structure. It is these guides that can withstand the greatest loads. If you have heavy objects in your box, then you should purchase ball-point ones.

Lifting mechanisms

These are front lifts that allow the heaviest sash to be lifted effortlessly. Ideal for high-rise cabinets, for wide fittings with one long front or for double doors in multi-storey wall cabinets.

This mechanism is able to provide a good overview of the entire contents of the locker. In this case, the free space is not closed, as is the case with swing doors.

The most common varieties are:

  • When opening, two doors fold in the middle and rise (i.e. n. harmonic).
  • Folding, suitable for the upper tier of furniture. The sash folds upwards and fits both a solid cabinet and a headset with an overhanging visor.
  • The facade opens upwards parallel to the body. It is as convenient as possible and can be installed on both upper and lower cabinets.
  • Perpendicular lift.

Metaboxes

Another fashionable and popular furniture system, such a necessary box in the household. The main difference between the metabox is that the chipboard walls are replaced with thin metal. Thus, the inner area of the box increases and the operational properties become better.

They also have double stops that lock the drawer in the open position. It is good to install the metaboxes in rooms with a high level of moisture, since the processed metal does not deform from water.

Roof rails

A very fashionable fittings for kitchen drawers - a modern use of metal brackets in a horizontal position. Typical for modern modern or minimalist kitchens. Thanks to the rails, it is possible to provide high functionality and complex installation systems.

Structures made of pipes that are mounted in the apron area look good. But, if necessary, they can be installed anywhere else in the kitchen. The rails consist of the pipes themselves, as well as holders, bushings, plugs and suspension elements.

Selection rules

It depends on a person's temperament what kind of fittings he needs in the kitchen. If you or your family are used to making sudden movements, then you cannot do without spring hinges and door closers. It is they who will extinguish some of the energy and keep the kitchen facades intact.

When choosing a handle, especially roof rails or staples, make sure you can fit at least three fingers into it. Also check the handle for smoothness. There should be no sharp corners, dents or other defects in it.

When purchasing lifting devices, carefully calculate the free space remaining to the ceiling. For medium and large top cabinets, the lifting mechanism of the Austrian brand Bloom Aventos is popular. It is used in facades without handles, it can stop the door in any position, and the company's product range includes as many as 6 types of lifting mechanisms.
