How to use the multicooker: turn on the first time, choose the right program

Many people, for the first time acquiring this miracle of technology, pose a logical question: how to use a slow cooker? Earlier we reviewed multicooker working principle, so today we’ll analyze the necessary information component on how to use the multicooker correctly, what features and differences are in expensive and cheap models, we will teach you to determine the necessary cooking mode.

How to start a slow cooker for the first time?

If you purchased a new Panasonic multicooker, do not rush to cook in it. Like any new appliance, it has a factory smell that you hardly want to fill the entire kitchen with. Therefore, take out the cauldron and wash it well. Wipe with a dry cloth, very carefully monitor the walls and the bottom. There should not be a drop of water!

Now insert the cauldron into the Panasonic multicooker and connect it to the network using the power cable. Pour a little water and press the function “heating / temperature maintenance”. In most cases, this button is combined with the stop / cancel button. Just click it once. Close the cover. Please note: in some multicookers Panasonic, Redmond, Polaris, Moulinex there are two functions “heating” and “heating”. These are completely different temperature programs! Wait 15 minutes. Open the cover of the multicooker, check if the water is warm. Thus, you check the operation of the heating element and determine the heating rate, which you will probably find useful more than once.

Please note: if you bought a crock-pot in the winter, never turn it on in the cold, let it warm up to room temperature in a dry place.

How to choose the right program?

Most programs have already been pre-installed. In Panasonic multicookers, the budget option can have only 6-8 programs, while the more expensive ones have 20 programs or more in their own arsenal.

For example, frying, buckwheat, pilaf and rice are interchangeable programs. It is enough to have only one of them, as you can cook all 4 dishes without problems.

Please note: the cooking timer will be different. At the first cooking, we advise you to note how long it will take to cook rice in the "frying" mode. Do not be afraid to periodically open the lid and observe the readiness of the dish in such cases.

How to include the necessary program in the Panasonic multicooker?

The products themselves are loaded into the bowl when it is not installed in the device, to the maximum division. In the Moulinex and Polaris technique, there can be either a 3 or 5 liter pan. As for Panasonic and Redmond, they now rarely see 3-liter options, so we will miss this case.

The maximum division in a five-liter pan is 5 liters of water in it. But we strongly advise against cooking under such conditions. Do not place more than half the bowl in a Panasonic multicooker. Then food will not be sprayed onto the top cover, which is very difficult to clean and will not exit through the valve. You should adhere to this rule when loading products if you do not want to constantly clean the lid of dried food.

How to understand how much water should be poured in different programs?

Each program requires a certain amount of water for cooking. Best of all, read the recipe book that comes with the kit. It will help to understand not only how to turn on the Panasonic multicooker, but also tell you what and how to cook. If the recipe book was not included in the kit, this can only be determined empirically, usually pouring water on a finger higher than the level of products.
