Kinds
There are different types of heating meters. Mechanical (tachometric) - similar to conventional water computing devices, the principle of operation is the same. Its disadvantages are high sensitivity to pollution and the inability to save information recorded during the day.
Ultrasonic - measurements are made due to the ultrasonic signal passing through the coolant. Most often they are installed in apartment buildings.
Electromagnetic - the most accurate counter model, but also quite expensive. Due to its design features, it can be installed in any position. The only thing he needs is a constant cleaning.
Vortex - installation is possible in any position, not sensitive to contamination. May give inaccurate information if there are air bubbles in the heating system.
Principle of operation
According to generally accepted standards, the meter must be installed on a horizontal heating input pipe. The flow sensor of the computing device captures data on the consumed coolant. One temperature sensor is mounted in the supply pipe, and the other in the return heat pipe. From them, information also goes to a computing device.
After simple manipulations with the calculations, the device provides information about the amount of heat consumed. The heating meter can make calculations with a small error. On average, it is +6 - -6 degrees, i.e. ten%. However, this inaccuracy is indicated in the technical regulations, but the actual deviation from the norms may depend on a number of certain factors.
The error is affected by:
- If the temperature difference of the coolant at the inlet and outlet is less than 30 degrees;
- The assembly of the computing device is performed in violation, has any defect;
- The size of the heating pipes and the properties of the coolant (the presence of various impurities and the percentage of stiffness).
