Acoustic scientists divide parasitic noise into two types: airborne and structural. The air is called the noise from loud speech, music. The sound of repair in the neighborhood, the clatter of neighbors is defined as structural noise. To complete the picture, loud music from a high-quality audio center generates both airborne and structural noise, shaking the construction of the house with acoustic pressure.

Good noise insulation at home is influenced by several factors:
- Location - in houses along the highway, of course, the noise level is greater than in quiet streets;
- Window constructions - high-quality windows isolate the premises well from the acoustic debris of the street;
- The presence of hinged facade decoration. It is especially effective in the warmed form;
- Location area - it is believed that houses standing in prestigious areas with respectable neighbors have less spurious noise.
The most important sign of noise insulation at home is the material and its thickness used in the construction of the house. Three types of houses are common in the type of basic material in modern homebuilding in Russia.
Panel house
The most problematic design in terms of sound insulation quality. Due to the insufficient thickness of the panels, as well as through connecting seams, parasitic acoustics significantly penetrates the housing. Equipping the facades of such houses with soundproofing panels to some extent solves the problem. It is worth noting that the use of reinforced concrete structures with voids in the interfloor ceilings of prefabricated houses significantly reduces the noise arising through the floor and ceiling.

Monolithic (and brick monolithic) house
The problem with sound insulation is that they are built according to the technology of pouring concrete into the formwork in one pass, in large massifs. The result is a building without transitions - with a solid structure. If the developer in pursuit of savings during construction did not comply with the projected thickness of the floors, then the noise permeability increases. The noise in such buildings is usually reduced by equipping the facades with the same soundproofing screens.

Brick building
Judging by the reviews of sound insulation, brick houses are the best choice for those who want to get a quiet home. In recent years, the construction of brick houses has been minimized. They cost more, and are built two to three times longer. When buying a house in a new brick building, it is recommended to learn more about the developer and how the house was built, if there were any technological violations. Otherwise, the investment may be unreasonably expensive.

Before you purchase housing with good sound insulation, it is worth collecting more information about it. Pay attention to the thickness of the walls, window structures, check whether sound insulation of the floor is carried out. In any case, one must be prepared for the fact that in order to achieve the maximum result, you may have to independently equip the house with soundproofing.
