Interior doors and their decoration are important elements of any room. Even the most beautiful door leaf can be ruined if you make mistakes during the installation of platbands to a concrete wall. Installation of platbands is carried out at the final stage of repair work. Of course, any novice master will be very offended if he installs such an exterior element poorly.

It does not matter what material the platbands are made of, whether it is PVC, MDF, ceramics or material made entirely from a wooden blank. All of them give the door leaf a complete and elegant look.
Platbands in construction stores can be found in two types:
- Monolithic, made of one material.
- With a body inside which there is an empty cavity. There, as a rule, put the wiring.
There are several options for mounting platbands to a concrete wall:
- An old and proven way of attaching to nails.
- Installation with self-tapping screws.
- Using glue.
In addition, there are platbands that have special latches. Using such devices, these decorative elements can be fixed directly to the box that is already installed and securely attached to the concrete wall.
Often, novice masters make a lot of mistakes by installing platbands to a concrete wall. We list the main ones and help you avoid them.
Mistake One: Incorrect Trimming
Even at the initial stage, people make mistakes, after which they have to buy a new platband, cutting off too large a piece of it. To avoid such troubles, first you need to measure the required length of vertically located platbands. To do this, take a tape measure and measure the distance between the floor and the bottom of the horizontally located part of the box. Add the width of the clypeus to the resulting number.
The length of the horizontal platband is measured by the formula: we add the width of the door with the width of the platband multiplied by two. After that, you can safely saw off and prepare the platbands for installation.

Remember that the platband should reach the floor, not the plinth. Therefore, you must first install the platbands, and then fix the floor plinths to the concrete wall.
Builders make another mistake when driving the platband, when it is necessary to trim its upper part at an angle of 45 degrees. You need to do this in a special device called a miter box. Before direct cutting, be sure to mark the place of processing with a pencil.

The installation of platbands can be called qualitative only if there are no gaps between them, so before attaching this decorative element to the wall, attach them to the installation site, and make sure that they are correctly trimmed and that there are no large cracks.
