To ensure the safe operation of buildings, the use of which is associated with elevated temperatures often requires a solution that can withstand high temperatures. It is not difficult to mix such concrete with your own hands, but there are several prerequisites. For mixing any type of thermoconcrete, you will need the same components as for ordinary plus refractory additives.

Thermal components
Refractory concrete is distinguished based on the components used in its mixing. As refractory additives use:
- Liquid glass;
- Alumina cement;
- Slag Portland cement;
- Fireclay battle;
- Chromite ore;
- Andesite;
- Pellets of blast furnace slag.
Types of solution
All concrete that can withstand high temperatures is divided into 3 groups, depending on the composition and maximum heat:
- Heat Resistant - Operating Temperature 700 0C, maximum one-time 1500 0WITH. The main component is slag Portland cement.
- Refractory - working - 1000 0C, maximum - 1800 0C. Additives - water glass or alumina.
- Highly refractory - more than 1800 0WITH. As a part of alumina, crumb of diamotic or fireclay bricks, slags.

The proportions of the refractory composition
Refractory concrete is needed when installing fireplaces or stoves, it is often used in the construction of boiler rooms or baths. When laying the furnace, it can serve as a binder, and can become the main material of the furnace device. Formulation recipes vary depending on the aggregates and additives used. The easiest way to knead a refractory solution:
- 3 fractions of crushed basalt;
- 2 fractions of sand;
- 2 shares of cement grade not lower than M500 (refractory);
- 1/2 share of lime;
- ¼ share of ash or pumice grinding.

All dry components are mixed to a homogeneous mass, after which water is introduced until the required ductility of the solution.
